Today rate still the same at 25.10 bahts.
Pardon me but the rate you gave was from the website itself? From what I experience a couple of times checking the website when I am at the super rich at chitlom BTS, the rates differs from what is seen on the website. I asked the person working and they say it's best to come down personally to check than to trust the website.
there are once it was reflected 25.05 on website but it was shown on the board itself at the exchange 24.75.
Correct me if I am wrong. I am going down today so I might check it later. :p

When you go to the website, it will show the exchange rates of Head office branch. This branch gives best rates among the whole Superrich chain of outlets. There are 3 outlets of Head office branch. See http://www.superrich1965.com/location.php for Head Office Branch.
In same website you can see rates of Khonkean branch, Others, and Thai Airways branches . The exchange rates of other branches is not so attractive, ESPECIALLY those at BTS station.
I suggest always check www.superrich1965.com & www.vasuexchange.com and compare. Usually both are comparative to each other. If both are same rates or a small difference, I will go Vasu exchange as its very near Nana BTS. Superrich main brance have to walk quite long way.
As at writing this post, Superrich main branch is 25.10 for S$1000 notes & 25.00 for other S$ notes. Vasu exchange only show S$1000 notes exchange rate 25.10.

The rates of super rich at chitlom BTS is not the same on their website. U have to walk all the way to the office near Big C. If I change lots of money then I will go to the office. If a hundred or 2 and I am there, then I will change at the Chitlom BTS. Too lazy to walk or drive to profit 10-20thb. If I am not there, I will change with others. As mentioned, a few baht do not deserve my time and effort.

Thanks bro for the insight. I did not venture deep into the website and also when i asked the guy at the superrich exchange at BTS Chidlom,he dismissed my query and say the updated one is on the board. So I presume the website was not as accurate. :o

I was not free to go to Chidlom BTS to change so I decided to change at Central Param 9 krungsri bank at 24.75 today. I went Bangkok bank at Central but was told to present my passport. As i did not bring along, she kindly told me to go over to krungsri bank to change as it only need ID.
I changed 1150sgd so I lost approximately 250baht if i changed at superrich which i felt was ok cos of time constraint and I did not want to go all the way to superrich and I was in need of cash.

Assume u take train from Hway Kwang to Asoke will be 25thb + Asoke to Chitlom another 25thb, total = 50thb. Then go back Hway Kwang will be total 100thb. The time thru n fro will be more than 1 hr. So to save on 250-100thb will be 150thb. Will it be worth it? :D Up to individual.

for people with uob atm card, you can draw cash without the 150 baht surcharge in bkk. The exchange rate is pretty decent and you don't have to worry about carrying too much cash around. Uob ATMS are a plenty in bangkok too. Do remember to activate your overseas withdrawal function first.

Ya lohz last time withdrawal overseas is easy but after a few fake/force withdrawal incidents, they implement it. Still remember About last year during new year, I went to withdraw $$ at NaNa area, tried the whole stretch of ATMs down there and none of it allow me to do so,in the end had to call back to POSB Singapore and ask them to activate it. Waited an hour before they activate it,so guys better activate your ATM cards before going overseas.

Open an account with Kasikorn bank and use their ATM card. That was what I did on my last trip. All it takes is just 20mins and you have your money safe in the bank, an ATM card so you have access to cash anytime and you can top up your Kasikorn account online from your own bank when you run out of money. Extremely convenient without the hassles of fees, exchange rates, not enough cash, or worry about the money left inside your hotel room. :)

U still have to do a TT from SG to Thailand... TT fee will charge in both SG and Thailand. The exchange rates is not in favor of u. With all these, u still have the hassles of fees, exchange rates.....
If u dun stay in Thailand or frequent Thailand then I dun see the benefit of TT from SG bank to Thai bank.
Local account is good for those regular in Thailand. With SGD, change to THB n when in Thailand deposit the THB into the Thai bank. Withdraw when u need, if u leave Thailand, just leave the THB in the bank for next trip.
Those who dun frequent Thailand, I dun see the point why bother about 10, 20 or 30 SGD transaction fee?? Dun make yourself miserable when u are on a tour. When u need money, just withdraw else what can u do when u have no money and want to save the transaction fee?? Beg or sell ass?
Just withdraw from with your sg uob atm card, I do that all the time. No transaction fees and decent exchange rate. Uob atms are aplenty too.

Kasikorn Bank is the only foreigner friendly bank where you can open an account without any hassle. Other banks require you to furnish employment or residency papers. To open account with KB you just need your passport, nric and 700baht.
Minimum deposit is 500baht and you can get your passbook + ATM card immediately. Once you have your account, you can login to their website and register for the Internet banking services. :)

I did mine in Patts at the Central Festival branch. Pretty efficient and done in 20 mins including waiting time. :D
The manageress then walked me to the ATM outside the branch to key in my password and I was all set. Changed all my spare cash and dumped into my new account withdrawing as and when I ran out of cash. :D

Reason for last week's drop was influx of capital inflows to Thailand, and not helped by SGD's drop to USD.

Whether to come out play or not, BKK governor post does not matters. The middle class, rich are for yellow and those old, poor will go for red. Anyway, yellow is just continuing his term, nothing much change.
The red has promised too much candies to the poor and the economic of Thai is slowly suffering. Tons of rice are stocked up, thousands of cars are out on the street, the list goes on.

If you asked about the exchange rate yesterday, the best rate u would get is prob ard 23.25, esp with the interbank rate at ard 23.3 today.
Try Chinatown, its the money changer with the perpetual long queue....u can't miss it. But if u changing small amounts less than S$5000, may not be worth going everywhere to hunt best rate. At 23.25 compared to 23.2, changing S$5000 gets u extra 250bht...barely enough to cover cab fare from airport to Sukhkumvit :p

I bought a couple of tickets for the coming Liverpool vs Thailand game online as it was a package that comes with hotel booking. They have collected from me via credit card for the hotel accomodation but not for the tickets. I was told I have to pay to the Thai vendor directly when we collect the tickets from him. I have been in correspondence with the vendor via email and he says he will only accept Euros as payment for the tickets. Does anyone know why? Is the baht not commonly used in Thailand?

Baht is their own own legal tender, so how can it 'not commonly used in Thailand'?
1) Did you also pay for hotel part in euros or thai baht? If former, he has converted from his base currency cost (with a more than favourable exch rate).
2) If package, why split ticket bit? -so leceh
Honestly, hotel part must be the easiest thing to do yourself without having to link tickets.

I think it is the other way round.... to get the tickets you need to stay at certain hotels. The tickets are hot and expected to sell out within hours of going on sale.
