dudes i hv spent the best part of the last 2 mths in manila work related in the day and r&r on a nightly basis (well almost, apart fm a few days out in baguio, palawan, bora, cebu & davo)...so i tot i wld share my experiences after getting some good info fm this thread before my trip...

hotels in manila and in the philippines in general -

apart fm company corporate rates & the internet(beware the us$ exchange rate)...i wld recommend scouting ard local travel agents to get competitive rates...unfortunately it wld appear that there is some rate discrimination in favour of the pinoys & the balikbayans(overseas pinoys) but u can still get a competitve nett rate...tip, pay in us$ cash so that u do not loose in peso exchange rate...

i found the general std of the hotel properties in manila to be on the shabby outdated side(even the 5 stars) apart fm say the shangri-la makati/edsa (pricey & perhaps not worth it unless u r on a company acc) and the newish hotels like hyatt casino (malate) & crowne plaza galleria(qc, ortigas)...

found 'traders hotel' (roxas blvd) to be best value for $$$ in the ermita/malate/pasay area...best suited for convention venue & the nightlife...managed to get a nett daily us$60...guest service is v good, security is v good & gal friendly, ask for high flr manila bayview rms...

there is a v cheap local laundry in the basement of the building next door(maybank has branch there) and on the grd flr the $$$ changer appears to give a competitive exchange rate (some of the gals there r quite cute & easy to flirt wif:))...

a 3 minute walk away is the fb harrison mall which has everything fm a supermarket, pharmarcy, food courts, internet cafe, shops (including an interesting firearms shop) & an adjacent sm mall...not forgetting some fl gals on the second level (more on that later)...there is also a cheap & tasty chinese food joint next to the mall 'hap chang' part of a chain, that serves dim sum & basic chinese dishes (v much better than the bigger 'chow king' food chain)...

give the 'century park hotel' (next to fb harrison mall) a miss...suppose to be a 5 star hotel but the service sucks, the rms r below average & v dated & worst still the hotel is not gal friendly...

for the makati area...i wld suggest 'the peninsula hotel'...although its rates r naturally higher than the malate/pasay area...i managed to get a nice spacious deluxe rm for us$90 nett...defintely one of the nicer, plush 5 star hotels in manila & gal friendly...

for upmarket shopping & classy gal(the classy chinitas & mestizas) watching at cafes in makati, try glorietta mall; greenbelt; & powerplant mall(rockwell)...

for the quezon city/pasig area...i wld suggest the 'crowne plaza galleria hotel'(ortigas/adb ave)...it is a brand new hotel wif large modern spacious rms & bathrooms (separate bathtub & shower rm)...managed to get a deluxe rm for us$80 nett...v good service & gal friendly...only downside found their room service menu to be lacking in choice...

a good plus pt...robinsons galleria shopping mall can be directly accessed fm 'crowne plaza galleria hotel'...this mall is pretty large and has everything u need...cheap laundry on the basement level; $$$ changer on the grd level; supermarket; food court; pharmarcy; even a cinema complex on the top level...

other good malls close by (by taxi 50 pesos trip)...greenhills mall & the podium...

it wld appear that the deluxe coffee scene is all the rage in manila wif starbucks & seattle coffee in all the malls...oh also the pinoys seem to be like pasta & pizas alot apart fm their own local food...so u will find these joints both foreign & local all over the place...

golf in manila -

manila golf club (forbes park, makati)...ok course, oldest club in manila

wack wack club (mandaluyong city, near edsa)...2 championship courses...well maintained...

not sure abt the rates as my pinoy hosts took me to both clubs during my stay...overall good service & relaxed time...


transportation -

stick to registered metered taxis, avoid the hotel limo service unless it is on yr company expense acc(pricey & not worth it even for the trip to the airport)...they r on the whole safe, cheap & make sure the hotel valet writes down the taxi's number & registration & get a copy of the same fm him for safety & service reasons...

when u flag down yr own metered taxi, insist the taxi driver uses the meter...these chaps can be rogues and demand outrageous flat rates...if u hv no choice and need to take a 'flat rate' registered taxi (most likely in the wee hrs of the morning after clubbing)...always agree on a flat rate before heading off...to get a rough idea on flat rates always ask the hotel reception/concierge before u leave the hotel on the average rates...i found most flat fares ard metro manila including quezon city sld not cost more than 250 pesos (even that is on the high side)...

wanted to try a jeepney for fun but gave it a miss after i read abt a sad & horrendous murder of a teenage gal over a handphone by bandits on a jeepney in broad daylight in quezon city...same reason to avoid the fx...

safety -

word of warning -

the best time to go to this club is just before 9pm (it closes at 4am)...there is a show cover of 400p not including yr drink charge(after yr first visit this charge is waived if u get in wif the papasan/mamasan)...a beer costs abt 90p...try to get a seat in the centre front of the stage (note the showroom is large by ktv club stds)...and relax & enjoy the show...no pressure to order anything (unless u want to) just remain cool & polite to both the papasan/mamasan & the waiter...

there r 'models' who strut their stuff in dresses...followed by 'dancers' who dance both in their knickers/g strings & bras & some in their 'birthday suits'; 'white tigers', 'brazilians' & more on view...then a solo dancer will do her thing, some even to the extent of audience interaction where she smokes a ciggie wif her pussy & gets an audience member, invariably a horny korean/jap to lick her pussy and drink her cunt juice mixed wif alcohol & ice...

the top flr of the club is the ktv and show section...here the gals r young & quite pretty, afew chinitas & mestizas...some sexy erotic dancing for the shows but no full stripping...gros 900p/hr; models 1100; dancers 1300p/hr (excluding drinks)...ktv rooms cost fm 3000p upwards...but it is based on a consumables basis...now if u want to get up to hanky panky wif the gal u got to pay an extra 3000p for a 'comfort rm' which comes wif an ensuite toilet...this does not include a tip wif the gal which has to be negotiated...bj is ard 2000p & full sex is ard 4,000p...normally the gals also luv to do a tequila show on the guys nipples(no extra cost apart fm the drinks)...

I've stayed in Somerset Olympia and Millenium several times b4. There are 3 somersets in Makati area - Olympia , Millenium and Salcedo. Olympia is next to Peninsular hotel whihc is next to Greenbelt/Gloretta. Millenium is behind this asian institude (a bit out of the place if you want to get a cab from there ). For Salcedo, i've not tried as it is in the CDB area, quite quiet at nite. Safest bet to stay is Olympia if you want Somerset to be your service apartment. (also if you stay in Olympia, choose the block furthest away from the makati avenue coz it dammed noisy.

Anyway i think bro eden has better lobang for you coz he stayed there longer than i do . Me only visit Phil once every 2 months for the past 24mths.

I was in Makati in the early part of June. Read from another forum about a HC named Phoenix 1. It's diagonally across from Renaissance Hotel. The HC is in a cheapo hotel called Roman Suites. Go up to the 3rd floor and enquire from the recep. One girl for 1 hr is PHP1,200. There is a package for 2 and 3 girls, forgot the price liao. Once you agree on the package, the fish tank behind you will be revealed. There were 12 girls to choose from. They all wear a standard chinese style masuesses dress. The girl you selected will bring you to a room. The room is rather spacious and comes with attached bath and TV. The FJ is PHP1,500 although the girl will ask for PHP2,000. My fav is Cebu pacific, which does good online deals. They also do fun games during the flight. The domestic airport is in old Paranaque airport. Its a bit chaotic at this airport, but then again, its the Philippines. Philippines airlines is a bit more expensive but they have a really nice new airport next to NAIA. Asian Spirit is a bit scary on the safety side, pinoys make fun of it by saying "Fly Asian, Arrive in Spirit"!

The other alternative is by ship from manila port. Can be quite relaxing, but will take a couple of days.

Anyway, have fun in Mindanao. I have a few friends in Davao and Zamboanga and they tell me that Mindanao girls have an exotic look that is different from Luzon. Try not to go to the Cotabato, Sulu Islands - Abu Sayaf. The beaches in the north are quite nice., and much of it is still untouched by foreign tourist. If you dive - even better! I'm not sure about Cebu but can give you good account of Manila. The main place to go is Makati. The best hotel to stay in would be City Garden Hotel @ Makati. It's just at a corner of a small lane.

Within a 5 minute walk you can reach a street name called P.Burgos St.

The nite life there is fantastic. Girls are easy to pick up at most pubs along the street.

Tonight not sure where to cheong but the hotel driver keep on insisting we should go Asian Entertainment. Not sure how true is words are on quality of girls there. Not too trusting as he may earn commission.

Location wise it is the pit, in the middle of nowhere. Have to take a cab if you ever want to set foot out of the hotel, prepare to be rip-off by Alamo transport stationed at the hotel as cab is hard to come by given the off location, minimum charge is P150.00 onwards, probably even higher now.

For the same price range, stay at Pan Pacific or Hyatt Manila in Malate where goodtimes is just a stroll away.

I went there on Monday it charge me at 150 peso and after 2am it was FREE...

As me recently travel very frequent to Manila like almost 2 months once, I went to LA very often.
The mamasan u talking abt I think I know who cos most of the time she like to approach me and ask me want any gal. Basically, I dun go to level 2 as I think with that 100peso charges, I dun like. SO I always try my luck at level 1. Most of the time I always get wat I want.

bi bros, I just came back from Manila last week and like to give a little update here. It was my first visit to LA and when I was there on 2 weeknights, both times I need to pay 150 peso to go to the second level. Personally, I feel that the girls on the second level is more suited for me. I realised that even on the second level, there are 2 sections, one next to the live band and another section away (to the right after you get up the stairs). I think one can get any gals you want at the section near the live band (they will even come and talk to you to get business). However, at the section away from the stage, I feel that that's where the quality gals are. But they seemed to be quite stuck-up unless you are introduced by a mamasan. They are lots of Koreans here and the mamasan seemed to favour them. I did not pick up any gals from this section as I did not want to engage the service of the mamasan. Any bro has more info on how to pick up these gals without the mamasan, or if we really need to go thru them, how much do we need to pay the mamasan and the gals? finally make it for my 1st shot in Manila. Suppose to go Victorious but my colleagues told me its expensive. So end up in a local pub near to AirForce1. ( Think the pub called Sparkle ) The girls are nothing much to shout about but there are few girls which are very ver ygood looking. Another recommendation, for bros who have some time to spare in Philippines, check out this island Puerto Galera (Sabang Beach). Its a 2hrs drive from Manila to Batangas Port and catch a 45mins ferry to the island. This place is also known as the mini Boracay but much much cheaper. Some info :

Type Of Accommodations : Simple Chalet type with TV, Cable, Shower, Aircon
Bars and Pubs : Lots of it
Girls : Range between 2000php to 3000php per 24hrs
Activities : Boating, Fishing, BBQ and of course Fucking!

bro dirtyhairy, you might have a hard time getting a good deal from okts in manila as you are a foreigner. so i suggest you go to the hc's instead.

here are the hc's known to most taxi dirvers in manila.

Sylvanus Health center
tell taxi driver to take you to Pegaus KTV. the hc is in the basement of that ktv. just choose from the fishtank there! rates are PHP 1,200 for room and for FJ PHP 1,200 to 1,200 for 1 hour. conversion rate is SG$ 1 - PHP 30

Utopia Health Center
tell taxi driver to take you to utopia in case he doesnt know since this is a fairly new place tell him its in front of the domestic airport. rates are the same as Sylvanus.
