If you have indulge periodically in unprotected sex of any sort, you should check every 6 months at the minimum if you have no symptoms.

If symptoms of any sort are experienced, you should see a doctor straight away.

I remember there was some sort of medication that you can take to reduce the risk but has to be within 24 hrs, can't remember the name

That's PEP and it's to reduce the risk after a potential HIV exposure. It does nothing for other STDs.

Thank you for the pointers in this forum. It has been very helpful. I have some queries which I hope you can advise:

1) If the female partner has STD but no open wounds in her mouth (assumingingly so), will I contract STD from the bbbj if my penis has no open wound?

2) Like the above, if the female partner has STD with no open wounds, will I contract STD from vaginal sex (no oral sex etc, just vaginal) even if I am protected by a condom. I was reading somewhere that even with a condom, there is a possibility of getting STDs so long as there is skin contact for the areas not protected by the condom.
