unlikely to be the cure..
Truvada was developed by Gilead Sciences and approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration in 2004...basically used to reduce the risk of getting HIV and it can have serious side effects http://www.truvada.com/

i am more excited about this (http://www.gaystarnews.com/article/new-antibody-suppresses-hiv-28-days-after-single-dose130415)

That is exciting news.

Way better than the Truveda daily dosage with side effects.

Hopefully the prevention method becomes a reality.

Way better than the Truveda daily dosage with side effects.

Recent studies, most famous of which is the IPERGAY study, has recommended a new way to take Truvada for PrEP that does NOT require daily dosing.

In a nutshell:

Take 2 tablets of Truvada 2 to 24 hours BEFORE sex
Take another 1 tablet 24 hours later
Take another 1 tablet 48 hours later

Efficacy is the same as daily dosing

Just to add to the conversation.

CDC statement on IPERGAY study:
http://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/newsroom/2015/IPERGAY-2015-Media-Statement.html

"CDC continues to recommend daily dosing of PrEP and urges people at substantial risk for HIV infection and their health care providers to continue to follow current CDC guidelines."

Cheers!
