An ongoing story, tackling a PRC interviewee

As per the title, just wanted to start this thread to chronicle an ongoing pursuit. Hopefully it leads to something more in the upcoming weeks!

A bit of background. My name is James, 40 years old, HR manager in a MNC. Married to my wife about 8 years already. Generally we have a good relationship, but of course things are getting boring after so many years. While I mostly gave up cheonging after getting married, my eyes still roam and once awhile, if really cannot tahan, still visit GL for a quick romp.

Recently, my company had an opening for a admin assistant. To cut a long story short, this girl (XW), applied. She's 25 years old, on a student pass. About to graduate from a private U and thus looking for a job, and hopefully convert to PR in future. What struck me was her looks, as she looked like Christine Fan.

Unfortunately, turns out she was not suitable for the role. But I kept her number, and txted her few days later

J: Hi XW, this is James, I interviewed you at *** few days ago. Unfortunately, you are not suitable for the role

XW: Hi, no problem, thanks for your time and letting me know

J: No problem. Still, I would like to get to know you better. Are you free for lunch next week? Any day is fine

XW: I'm free on Wednesday

J: Great! Lets meet at *****

XW: OK!

After some small chat through the app, we decided to have jap food.

The day finally came and we met up. Throughout the date, I tried my best to be confident and engaging, and tested water by brushing against her arm, standing close to her etc.

While she didn't reciprocate, she didn't seem uncomfortable either. So I was a bit disappointed when she said she had to go off, and declined a lift from me. Regardless, after she left, she txted me

XW: Thanks for lunch! I'll treat you back when I find a job k

J: My pleasure

J: Truth is, I find you very pretty

J: Would it be possible to date you again

XW: Thank you...weekends will be better cos I am more free...

Truth be told, I never had FWB before, nor was there plans to make this girl an actual girlfriend. So I had to tread carefully, and drop hints that I was just looking for a short term, mutually beneficial relationship, with no long term commitment.

J: Thanks! I'm on a business trip next few days. When I get back, I take leave and fetch you, you choose the place to eat k

XW: OK!

J: You so pretty, no one chase you before

XW: I just broke up...this was my third bf

J: Sorry about that. I used to have a GF from PRC too

J: We dated for about a year 5 years ago

J: She preferred Singapore guys, cos she say china guys very MCP, only expect to be served without reciprocating

XW: Oh...what happened, why did you break up

J: Due to my family situation, she knew I couldnt commit to a long term relationship. But we both believed we should grab happiness whenever possible, even if its for a short while

J: So we were together for about a year, broke up when she went back China to get married. I was also happy for her that she found her everlasting happiness...

XW: Thats sad, how about you, not married

J: 有苦难言 ...

I knew that if she replied, then she would be moving forward fully aware of my intentions...

J: How was the interview. Did it go smoothly?

XW: It was ok, but I still looking for job in the finance industry

J: Tell you what, I'm travelling next few days, if got time at hotel, I'll look at your resume and improve it for you, ok?

XW: THANK YOU! If got chance, I will be sure to perform

XW: Happy!

At this point, naughty thoughts running through my head liao...what does she mean by "perform" haha. And the fact that she still happily talking to me is a good sign

J: No prob. Take my advise, just start at the bottom, as long as you perform well, will have chance to progress

J: When I'm back from my trip next week, I'll date you out again, ok?

XW: OK!

Just fyi, there won't be any updates till late next week, as I'm going overseas with wife next few days.

I believe I do stand a chance with her, because I've already told her I'm 15 years older, and not able to commit long term, but she is still OK to go out with me.

Unless she planning to chop me haha, but I'm already prepared to end this flirting if she asks me for money. Don't mind paying for meals etc, but that's my limit. After all, this is meant to be a fwb or fb relationship, not sugar daddy!

You mentioned you’re in an MNC. Financial industry. You’re a manager and at your age you should know that flirting with interviewees, although have been rejected, is a no no.
