Better check eligibility to buy. If the law is like Malaysia, it may not be easy. Not sure you intend to stay there long term, if so, must check residency requirements also. But for sure much cheaper than JB, or blood sucking Sillypore :)

Re: Batam Info Thread

Anyone know whether Indonesian passport holders (cewek from Batam) entering Singapore and Malaysia will get ask-long-ask-short by SG and MY immigration officers, or will it be quite smooth sailing?

While I am at it, might as well add Thai immigration officers to the list. Any answer appreciated.

Anyone can advise how much the Double Storey house in Batam? I asked my cewek how much is the double storey house when we walked back from our lunch at nagoya hill...she always very good to reply me whenever I asked her a question "saya tak tahu" or "tak tahu".. I saw few apartments that cost about 300 Juta (S$40K). It consider damn cheap to compare in sg.

If a foregner want to buy a house in batam, anyone knows what is the procedure?

You can buy a house, but the land lease is 30yrs, need to renew every 30yrs. And it is from the time they built it, not the time you bought. So better just buy those in housing development, not those near roadside. But can only buy under "right to use", one of the 3 types of ownership in Batam, need to convert the deed from ""right of ownership" to "right of use" for most cases, just go to a lawyer and they can explain to you clearly, the fee years back was S$2500.00. Then you need pay stamp duty, but just few million Rp.

Hello! This looks extremely interesting to me.
I am sorry because I am not a big contributor in SammyBoy, but I have written many very detailed reports on ISG (sorry to mention a "competitor"). I am bule, but I consider myself quite expert now of the Batam scene (8 times there in 2 yrs). I am not into KTVs and bars. First times, I was used to book ceweks from Berry Indah and Indah2. Now, I feel more oriented to attend NoName and discoes, because I often got nice girls also for free :D
This long introduction only because I hate to ask, without providing.
Would you like to tell me more on what to find in those places? I like SYT. Any chance?
Thank you!

Thank for the explanation, Can you explain following...Thanks
1) It's applied to all the indonesian they need to renew every 30 years or it's only applied to the foreigners?
2) if foreigners to purchase the house is there other hidden cost that we need to pay? In Msia, foreigner need to pay addition RM$12K on top of the purchase price.
3) I can't buy those resale house in Batam? Buying from housing developer, it's will take 3~4 years for them to complete to build the house and time to wait for approval from the athority before we can move in.

better buy a ready move in house....don`t buy a vacant land when nothing is going to build there...remember!!! it is a cowboy country...

That what i intended to buy ready move in house in batam. Where you can buy a double strorey house around S$40K to 50K in sg or Msia. My intention to purchase the house for long term investment, rent out or keep cewek..my friend staying Nagoya in batam mentioned those double storey can rent out at S$300.00/month. As he rent the whole unit S$300 monthly.

When I booked cewek my budget is around 400K to 800K. If the cewek is high side, I will asked the papi few questions before to decide to take her out or not

Which lorong 12 are you refer to? Geylang? Batam got lorong 12 mer?

free fuck? meantime i rather to pay for it, it will much cheaper. if FOC now, in later part, we need to pay back more then what we suppose too..

Re: Batam Info Thread

it is not worth to buy house in batam as investment.
only buy if you want to stay or for future stay.

Places like nagoya and baloi centre, now around 200juta above.
some even as high as 300juta.
if rent out for 1.2 juta a month (average market rate) for 200juta house.
it will take u 166 month to cover back, that is 13 years.
in batam, buy house is easy, sell house is hard. not easy to find buyer.

if buy a house at place like batu aji, teban,
that is cheap, as low as 80juta can get.
rental market rate around 500k to 600k per month.
but teban and batu aji area, it is very hard to find
ppl to rent the house and price of house will not increase
like spore case, rise every year.there house price may decrease
instead.

it just my understanding of the batam house market, may be wrong :D
