I rather see Aquilani given a chance in that role. I am pleased though that Rodgers has prioritised our attack in the transfer market so far.

Actually I rate Jonjo Shelvey as a much better all rounder than Jordan Henderson. He has a natural tendency for attack but is versatile and disciplined enough to take on defensive duties as DM..... reminds me so much of SG in his younger days :D. This boy will go far if properly groomed.

Aquilani is like porcelain..... so talented and nice to watch but very fragile. His physique is not suitable for the English game..... if he does play for us next season I foresee him spending some time in the medical room. :D

yah lah true also. Gerrard also very fragile these days.
These are times I wish we did sign Sigurdsson or hoping our scouts find someone else cos I don't trust Shelvey.

If I were the manager I would prefer to put Joe Cole in that role. :D

remind me of xabi, only a bit faster n more attacking... :D

i think he'll suit BR's tiki-taka playing style, if he can step up and adapt to epl games...

But some how JC after coming to Liverpool seems to have lost all his brilliance that he used to show in his Chelsea days...

Totally agree with MM - for me Jonjo is special because of his attitude and desire. He will pass and play till the last minute. Hopefully this will be his breakout season.

well, there is no point having the right attitude and desire when you don't have the skills to back it up.
Another example would be Jay Spearing. At least age is on Jonjo's side and hopefully he turns out a success. For now, the jury is still out.

Looks like Borini has been signed for 11 million as well. Very exciting prospect!

Seriously? Jay spearing is crap. Jonjo is so much better. A future replacement for Gerrard. You should see him play when he was on loan at blackpool. A true attacking midfielder.

One reason why BR signed him long term is he sees the potential in jonjo. Can't wait for Lucas to be back and give jay the boot.

Yes he shined for Blackpool in the Championship.
Even games where he did well for Liverpool were against Championship sides in the FA Cup and a weakened Chelski.
I will never forget his horrible display against Newcastle as well, he has a lot to do to be a Liverpool player imo unless our standards have dropped so much.

and Yes Jonjo is a lot better than Spearing. I wonder if people's opinion of Jonjo would be different if his transfer fee to Liverpool was much more like Henderson and Carroll.

Never been a single bit of fan of jonjo..doesn't look having the making of a class player for me anyway....I feel spearing is better in all aspect probably diff from u guys...but can Rogers make him like what Kenny did to Lucas..who knows

Breaking back to top 4 is really dependent of the mgr and new players who comes in...as usual, I'm looking at instant results so as the owners as football is really to expensive and commercial now..you fall back..you nv recover again until another billionaire owners comes in..

Borini news from the Echo.

As for Rodellega, he is more of a replacement for Andy Johnson and Fulham's loan signing last season who went to Reading now, Progbenyak. Don't forget Fulham lost Zamora too so they been needing a striker for a long time. So I won't take this as any indication that Dempsey is leaving.
Only indication so far is that Dempsey is not signing an extension.
