Yes, I agree that Roy Hodgson was poor tactically and also in the market as well. Never knew what he saw in Konchesky and Poulsen, while both eventually left the club as well.

Anyway, Brendan Rodgers is the current manager so let's concentrate on him instead of past managers.

We need to increase our attacking options, especially in the wide areas. We are not gonna play with Downing and Joe Cole for every match, right? There will surely be injuries, suspensions etc. Bellamy and Sterling is too old and young respectively to last 90 minutes in every game.

We have Borini, Suarez and Carroll (for now) to compete for the lone striking position.

Lone striking tactic failed big time last season if we can remember under KD! I still believed in the old school of taught of 4-4-2!

You are right! Brendan Rodgers have inherited from Kenny Dalglish more or less the same group of players, + Borini, - Maxi Rodriguez, Kuyt and Aquilani.

However, not many clubs play with 2 strikers up front.

Many clubs play with only 1 up front, with either 2 wide players supporting the front man and dropping back to 5 in the middle when defending, or they simply play with 5 in the middle throughout the match.

Loan maybe the thing of the future. Many are unsure about joining a club with a new and young manager. And also that Liverpool have just blown 20m in aquaman and 20m downing not doing well, the owners are cautious and rightly so.

So with loan and option to buy at end of season, why not. Makes economical sense.

Only problem is those on the "for loan" list are from the european clubs and not in their 1st team....... players that they are hoping to get rid of.

I don't know how to feel anymore, I love this club a lot for the last 22 years or so, and it just doesn't feel the same anymore.
Against Gomel when the players did not acknowledge the fans, Ged Poynton actually told them "noone forced you to travel here" when fans were upset.
The one thing that kept fans together as well was a special bond. these days fans turn on each other, its like supporting Chelski where that's a trend.
Things have changed, I wish they din have to for LFC.

I didn't watch the Gomel match but wow. Who's Ged Poynton?

It's probably not that bad bro. The internet community, which is most divided, is only a fraction of the entire support.

And probably not Rodgers' fault. He is a bit lacklustre in the transfer market so far but things are going on behind the scene which is the Pool way. A lot of shit is being stirred up by supposedly good media, e.g. why Carroll and Agger did not travel, Skrtel's comments, Suarez always reopening the ban etc.

It's difficult to come in at this time, with the Olympics, but I am hopeful about next season. May BR stay for 10-15 years, enough of this firing of managers.

Why not? That particular player may not fit into system A does not mean he can't fit into system B. It's like you finding a job. This companyay not suit you or vice versa but when you joined another company in the same industry, you love the place so much you don't wanna go.

Makes sense doesn't it?

Who knew of Alonso when he came here?
Who knew of Owen when he was promoted? Did he fare well after he left?
How did fowler fare after he left for Leeds?
How did Owen heargreeves fared after he left Munich?
How did Vernon fared after he left lazio?

You get the idea now.

a player peak at certain months and years...not all the years they come good and some really are just mediocre players...we knew premier league players are paid highly...so do you think they will go all out to play week in week out...dun forget some also broke curfew and stayed out late...we never know their state of fitness for that particular game...:)

One thing all must bear in mind that with no CL for 3 seasons, all top players will not come. So the best way to achieve that now is to get some unknown players, gel them into a fighting outfit and get that CL spot again.

Top players like carzola, poldoski and the likes will always choose scums, ars and chelski over us because of CL. Those can be bought now and good players, look who their suitors are. CL playing teams. Liverpool can't fight for these players, not now the least. Unless you want to pay extremely high transfer fees and insane amount of wages that will burst the budget.

Just read Andy's declaration that he will NOT leave Liverpool for West Ham or Newcastle. He says he wants to stay and fight for his place..... "sigh" ... West Ham needed him.

I reckon we need to strengthen our attacking options more.

I dun think Liverpool can hold on to Agger any longer. Man City has tabled a 3rd bid of 20million for Agger after having the 1st 2 bids rejected. And they have dangled a $100,000 a week pay for Agger which is a huge improvement from his current wages.

20 millions for a good defender with just 2 years left on his contract, IMHO, is a good business transaction, a good deal.
