Raheem Sterling vs Scott Sinclair

Right out from the gaffers mouth! BR has come out and praised Sterling as being more advanced and talented than Scott Sinclair. :p

Your point being?

When Nabil El Zhar was in the Liverpool squad a few seasons ago (2008/2009 season), we had very good options in the wide areas. Yossi Benayoun, Albert Riera, Ryan Babel, Dirk Kuyt and Jermaine Pennant. Back then Lucas Leiva wasn't first choice as we had Mascherano, Gerrard and Alonso in central midfield. Thus, he was mostly only able to play in those less important games like Carling Cup, FA Cup etc. Even when we beat scums 4-1 at Old Trafford, he came on for Gerrard in the 82nd minute (if I'm not wrong) when the game was already won.

Fast forward to now. We now have lesser options in the wide areas. Downing, Assaidi, Sterling and Joe Cole (injured)

Sterling has already played the full 90 minutes against Hearts and Man City, and I forsee that he will be involved in more matches this season.

Brendan Rodgers himself has already said that he will definitely be giving the younger players more playing time this season.

He looks far better, El Zhar was only in the side cos he played according to Rafa's instructions. He wasn't very pacy or skilled.

Jury is out on the new guy but on Youtube at least, he has quick feet, dribbles, takes on defenders, and seems to be a fairly confident chap.

Hope to see him soon, and Downing as backup for Enrique and Raheem ;)

I just read that Downing actually started out as a defender in his schoolboy days. ;) I bet that many of you didn't know that either. :)

I think BR should just utilize him in defence instead of playing him on the wings as his crossing sucks.

I understand that he hurt himself during the warm up prior to the match.

Sahin came in at the right timing. He is a DM and plays similarly to Xabi Alonso :D

He should fit into Lucas's role without any problems.

I read in the Gunners website that Theo Walcott is leaving Arsenal.... but they did not specify where he is going to..... maybe it is Liverpool? ;)

Based on his past CA was supposed to be better but on current form his performances have not been what he was capable of achieving.
He looks obese now, maybe if he loses some weight his performance can pick up? :p
