Ban for last 4 games and start of 1st 6 games next season (of course if we still continue to keep him - very much dependent on the owners)

our lg position as top 8 side very much dependent on him, if not i could not imagine where we will end up..

But then again, do we preserve our values as a discipline club or......success orientated club...

So he still would not be top scorer this season then...:(

I think the punishment is acceptable. I even feel the panel was lenient. Honestly I expected a heavier punishment, considering it was his 2nd biting offence, on top of the racial abuse. But I fear Pool may be expected to enforce further club punishment on the player. Unless the club fine was deemed sufficient.

The 10 game ban was a shocker to the Liverpool management.... they had expected a more lenient sentence and will file an appeal.

defoe got a yellow card....

and people r talking abt suarez deserve a 8-10 matches ban...!!!???

This case was different because the referree spotted the offence by Defoe and punished him with a yellow card. Since the referee had already taken action during the match..... Defoe could not be charged retrospectively by the FA for the same offence.

In Suarez's case.... because the referee did not spot and take any action.... the FA can take action against Suarez in the interest of the game. However I feel that the 10 match ban is too harsh for an offence of this nature.

Suarez's earlier biting offence was initially only a 3 match ban by the Dutch FA..... but was increased to 7 match ban because of an appeal by Feyenood and a threat of taking the case to the courts..... and it happened in Holland not England so it should not be taken into account for this case. Imho the EFA is biased against Suarez.

I concur with your opinion.

When a British dog bites....it is OK
When a South American dog bites...it should be put down

stupid rule.....

suarez should learn his lesson, next time if he bites, he better faster go own up to the referee, then he can get away with only a yellow card.....

:p:p:p

Suarez should have already learned his lesson from earlier incidents. Dutch FA banned him for 7 games for previous biting incident. You can't get away with such silly acts, especially when you are a highly paid professional.

Suarez was in the running for Player of the Year n Top Scorer award. Now everything is down the road! Whole year effort wasted n then gone to RVP.

This case was definitely biased against Suarez as the British PM allegedly put pressure on the Independent Commission to impose a heavy sentence.

Vote Cameron out at the next elections!!

The Prime Minister told BBC Radio Five Live on Friday morning: "I made my own views clear just as a dad watching the game.

"I've got a seven-year-old son who just loves watching football and when players behave like this it just sets the most appalling example to young people in our country."

"There are people, I've read in some newspapers, who think somehow this isn't serious. I think it is serious, when we're trying to bring up our children properly, they do see football players as role models.

"Bringing up children is one of the toughest things we do but you can't wrap them in cotton wool and hide them away from the world, they do see these real-life examples and they repeat them back to you."

hope he has not let his son watch too much of football... esp. matches involving players like giggs, rooney, terry, cashley cole...

Incidents on the pitch and off the pitch..what you see with your eyes and what you read on the papers is different..

Not defending manure players anyway but I guess that's what the PM is thinking..

LS was indeed wrong..lesson not learnt..but we really still need him ..considering our current plight and cash-flow limitations..:(
