Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

The website did not go into details of the financial issue. But sooner or later, Madrid may feel the pinch and that might be the reason for the free transfer of Kaka ( to free up wages ) and sale of Ozil ( free up wages and good return on investment ) who cost €15 million when Real Madrid purchased him.

Liverpool could do with a new DM. But they still lack that creativity from midfield to support the attack.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

I was having a conversation with my friends and interestingly we noticed a trend. Despite the more misses than hits transfer policy of our club (no need to mention the long list of failures right), we seem to get most of our transfers right QUITE OFTEN in the last 14 years when it comes to the 2 positions of Goalkeepers and Central Defenders.

Goalkeepers: Friedel, Sander Westerveld, Scott Carson, Chris Kirkland, Dudek, Reina, Mignolet

Central Defenders: Henchoz, Hyypia, Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Kyriagokos, Toure,

The reason my friends and I were talking about this is because our club is replacing players in these 2 departments this season and we seem to have history on our side. Sakho looks damn massively muscular as a player. I think he will make Skrtel and Agger look skinny. Hopefully, Tiago Ilori will be as good a defender as Agger is. We seem to have good scouts in these 2 areas and poor scouts when it comes to wingers and strikers.

Right back position is traditionally good too. Right-back: Finnan, Carragher, Johnson, Kelly, Flanagan. Finnan was massive. Quiet, hardworking guy who work hard at overlapping.

Left Back position tend to be a major weakness: Traore, Riise, Aurelio, Warnock, Enrique. Maybe we should move Sakho here when Toure recovers as he can play left back too. Can anyone remember a good player in this position?

Central Midfield is full of hits and misses: Redknapp, McAteer, Igor Biscan, Hamann, Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso, Allen, Lucas,

Got a trend right? If ok tend to continue to be ok. If lousy, then to remain lousy. So-so remains so-so.

Our squad seems much stronger than last year. No one misses Reina. We have a younger, better keeper with lower wages. Mignolet is very slow in releasing the ball though. His dribbling skills... quite scary.

tat's wat I think so too, Ilori started his career as a forward before converted to defender...
Lucas has oso been successfully converted from an attacking midfielder to a defensive midfielder...

I still do not much confidence in Jones as a back up GK... thot we were after Shay Given as backup..

This season Liverpool did have a good list of potential transfer targets in the attacking midfield / winger area. Eriksen, Mkhitaryan, Willian and believe it or not, Lamela. Jovetic met Liverpool representatives prior to accepting a move to Manchester City.

I always tot the gunners were soft in midfield but with flamini in there and with that german won't be easy against them but their defence can be bullied, spurs looks like very good team,so won't be easy for us.

I think the hardest team to beat in the BPL now is Liverpool.
They have mastered the technique of parking the bus when they are in the lead. :p
