It looks like The REDS was lucky last night. In term of possession Gunners really out perform Liverpool and their attack were really sluggish. It seems like Ralf makes a pac with wanger. Ralf has to meet the new boss today. If the reds got beaten again (at anifield) it would really looks bad infront of the new boss.

Well, I maybe wrong and I do hope that I am wrong.

yes, i have seen liverpool play better than last nite. just recently in fact. remember the 1st half against barca at anfield. i thought they played better then. except that the strikers couldnt put the chances away.

however, i would like to state that in the first half against barca, how many shots on goal did ronaldinho have? none, only 1 off target. did u know how much possession barca had? 63% but nothing to show for. last nite, the whole game, i suspect arsenal had 60% of the possession for the 1st half last nite. 2 off target shots to show for. liverpool - 2 goals, 5 shots on target.

guess u probably r not familiar with the fact that teams like barca and arsenal needs the ball to be effective, while liverpool, playing my favourite 4-2-3-1 formation last nite, only needs to soak up the attack, regain possession and play the ball fast to the wings. that would stretch out the defence and leave our dear gerardinho and crouchinaldo in the middle to wreck havoc. did u see that? attack on the break, in simpler terms. different style of play. doesnt mean having possession means having a good game.

i have been taught in my younger days (and still apply now), in football and in basketball, is that having the ball does not define one's character. it is what u do without the ball. any idiot can attack and shoot, but it takes really character and heart to defend.;) that is also one of the reasons why i defended sissoko so vigourously in this thread. i always see his eyes light up when he is defending. that, $ cannot buy.

so liverpool having a bad game yesterday, i seriously dont think so although u r entitled to yr opinion. but for wenger to throw away such an important game just for rafa, that thought is just naive. u probably do not know how important 3rd place is. michel platini has indicated that 4th place would probably have to qualify for the champions league in the earlier rounds from next season onwards. that would translate to more meaningless games and a much earlier season. think of what it would make the players feel, having their break cut short.

if i were to be like u, to only think liverpool play better than i have ever seen them play, then i might as well stop supporting altogether, cos i have seen the dominant team of the 80s... in my humble opinion, no team has ever dominated like they have.

cheers, YNWA... still a damn good weekend...

Of course you are wrong. Pls don't insult our team and fans by even suggesting that.

I know where you are coming from in terms of our performance (Bro AXL has taken the trouble to explain his view carefully and I agree we could play better). But there is no need to stoop so low as to suggest we couldn't have won without a "pact".

Sad truth about football today - you are judged by the result and less by the performance. Reason why we won yesterday is probably cos we scored first and gained confidence from there.

We often don't remember games for the performance. In future we may not remember much about Barca and Scum at home, where we played out of our skin and lost (we may remember Barca cos we actually won the tie).

Remember the home game against Galatasaray 2 seasons back? We had a horrid game to be honest but it is remembered for Stevie's smasher in the dying seconds. Ditto the FA Cup final against West Ham, where we easily played below par.

And in short we will remember the 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal, not for the performance but for the goals and Crouchie's hat trick. ;)

Amen.. I really hope we will.. Cos some gooner fans may had raved on and on like broken tape recorders had it been Henry who scored the hat-trick...

Our Crouchie? He's an acquired taste... and we love him for that... :D

Stevie G's much more matured now... I'm sure he'll understand once Rafa's got his perfect team up (hopefully next season, and even better than Valencia) & running... Cos by then, Stevie's really gonna be the MOST complete player in the world! :D

Liked the way his off-the-ball movt was last nite, much, much more intelligent now... :)

i would love him more if he could score a goal per game for 3 games than to score a hattrick against arsenal!!! cos then opposing teams will have another superstar or in-form player to mark rather than putting their attention all on gerrard. but then again, loved crouchie's play even when he wasnt scoring...;)

liverpool desperately needed someone other than gerrard to step up and deliver. several players did last nite and we saw a very clinical and disciplined team out there. gerrard didnt need to turn up the heat. good turn if liverpool can keep this up...:D

Erm, did you lose money in taking Arse last nite, bro? Relac... :p

Hmmm... Or maybe you were in another parallel universe to ours, but watching the same game... :D

Clinical IS the word, bro... In fact, we looked so much like the Valencia of Rafa's time...

u wont know what i would give to see liverpool play like valencia. and we can see rafa is still going in the same direction...:D n i believe this would materialise soon. i m very excited that rafa has finally changed to this formation after tinkering for so long. cos player for player, one can easily see that liverpool is stronger than rafa's valencia...;)
