Just started reading this today and hope it is not too late to reply you. Anyway, just want to share with you my experience.

I get to know a girl in Vietnam and we became very good friend. She is not my type and I know that she is attached. So, knowing her is purely for friendship only and nothing else.

I went to HCM a couple of times and so met her those few times. She will ferry me to their coffee house (I really like that as they are nice with good ambience) with her motorcycles and we will chat till late night.

Once, I know that we are very near to her house, I told her to detour and let me see her house. She was horrified and say that this is a no no as Vietnamese are very conservatives. She cannot let her neighbours see her carrying me in her motorcycles and never bring another man back to her place besides her bf.

As such, I think this girl must be serious in you and would like to start a relationship with you, in my opinion. Perhaps you have the answer now.

we are foreignors and thats their thinking. I recently made contact with a viet ger via one of the website. Guess wat after 3 mails to me, her 3rd came this story.

I am sick and need money to go hospital. Can u help me cos u r a foreignor. Who the hell she think she is. So jus excercise caution, I was with some friends working in a government ministry of vietnam. he tells me the cases of foreignors kenna cheated by viet gers are on the rise.....

so just be careful whether they are decent or indecent gers ..... its not their fault but the peer pressure that makes them the way they are. most of the people in vietnam dun really work ......

I think you are right to comment this. However, this girl I have known her for 2 years already. But till todate, she never asked anything from me. So, really is on friendship only.

Well, she went out with me my feeling is Vietnamese are always curious and wanted to know foreigners. Until now, I have not given her any $$$ or she has asked me for it.

I have faith that she is not the type of girl you talked about. However, that doesnt mean that disagree with what you said. On the contrary, I do encounter some other vietnamese and really they tried to take advantage. I think Vietnamese is a bunch of clever ppl and you have to deal with them with great alert. Otherwise, you will get con.

Very informative thread brudder lament... kudos to you.

Its been like 2 months since I've met this Viet Gal in Sillypore...

I like her and she seems (in my opinion ofcourse) to have a fancy for me but obviously I am on the lookout for possible fraud.

She'll be returning about 2 weeks from now.... I've stop visiting the joint she worked @... seems like I can't make myself go there anymore cos I don't want to be a paying customer of her's and the fact that I do not want to see her @ work.
