Mate, Rodgers is a new wave of managers who views the modern game with a different look. I wish he stays with Liverpool for a long time as he will only get better.

Another stand out manager is Roberto Martinez. Personally, I feel he has done a good job at Everton and will probably lead the race for the Europa spot.

Had my doubts about Brendan Rodgers last season, but now more than happy to eat my words!

He has been given the next 3 games to salvage his career at Old Trafford.
Lose them and its bye bye..... ;)

Come to think of it..... SAF was in the same situation when he took over the Man Utd manager job.
Coming from a successful stint at Aberdeen...... he had a horrible 1st season and was given 3 games to save his career...... the rest is history :p

News in England reports Tottenham are close to sealing a deal for Yevhen Konoplyanka.

The Ukraine star's move to Liverpool failed to materialise on transfer deadline day during the January transfer window and Dnipro president Ihor Kolomoyskyi spoke of Liverpool's failure to do a deal for purely technical reasons and believes London life is preferable to Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard Urges Liverpool to Offer Brendan Rodgers a New Contract

By Omar Hamouda
18 Mar 2014

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has urged the club to provide manager Brendan Rodgers with a renewed contract, following the excellent work the Northern Irishman has undergone at the club.

Rodgers joined the club in June 2012 following the sacking of club legend Kenny Dalglish and despite not many fans initially taking to him, Rodgers has gone on to excel at the club. Liverpool are currently 2nd in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in-hand.

Steven Gerrard, who netted twice during the demolition of Manchester United on Sunday, has urged the club to tie down Rodgers according to BBC Sport, who has been linked with Barcelona in recent days.

"He has been a revelation," said the 33-year-old. "He keeps tinkering and tweaking formations, making little changes to personnel and pulls it off.

"You go out feeling full of confidence and belief. His one-on-one management is the best I've known.

"He is a young coach who has earned the right to become Liverpool manager and from week to week he is improving," Gerrard added.

"We are absolutely delighted he is here and I just hope there is a lot of movement as we speak because they have got to get him signed up as soon as possible."

Mate, you have to view from both sides. Some of the players signed are young and need to be groomed. Clubs always look to the future.

Eriksen and Salah for example; No doubt they are talented players, but they also require the club to nurture them to become mature players.

Henderson was a considered a bad signing and Rodgers himself considered offloading the player and presently he has become unplayable. Coutinho entered the team with good form, however in recent weeks, he was rather off the mark. Liverpool have not much of a choice as he is the only creative player who could pull the strings. He has a bright future, but Liverpool will have to play their part.

If they fail too, it will turn into another Michael Owen situation when once he retires, he points at Liverpool's failure for looking after him as a player.

Pierre.

Owen is a bloody greedy traitor and ended up as a balls licker at MU.

if spurs has the $ 2 throw, they k buy any player they 1.
but during each game, tim k only put 11 men on the field.
if they spent 2 much plus a big pay 2 handle weekly, then they could end up like leeds united if they don't get 2 hv some europe top action on the field.

Success is subjective, nevertheless I feel Steve McManaman fits the bill.

Four season with Real Madrid, he became the first English player to win the UEFA Champions League with a non-English club in 2000. In 2002, aside from winning the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup, McManaman became the first English player to win the Champions League twice. He also won La Liga ( 2001 & 2003 ) and Supercopa de Espana ( 2001 & 2003 ) twice.
