Dear bros,

Just landed late afternoon today in HCM for work and change $ at airport 16,750 after comparing the few rates from the money changers. Raining quite heavy on my way back to the hotel earlier. As usual, the tout for taxi is offering US$15 to my hotel which I turn down the offer and request for meter with the fees at 120,000 when reach hotel.

Will most probably get a drink at Napoly or Gossip later to end the day while preparing for tmr meeting. It is always more boring to travel alone.

By the way, bros do you all know where to buy Arsenal replica jersey for adults and kids sizes if available here? Also if the price here is reasonable as compare to Bangkok?

Rice importers typically have their own contacts to mills all over Asia , I seriously doubt anyone would break their own rice bowl by sharing it with you here .

I dont get your point. My friend intend to buy (Round) Rice from VN and distribute it to Asia. VN Rice Exporter will have extra sales. Why would they break their Rice Bowl since I'm not importing Rice to their Country.:confused::confused::confused:

NTUC buy Long Grain White Rice fm VN but I need Round Rice from VN. Furthermore my friend need easily 20Ton per month if the rice quality is good. Anh khong chac em dc ko? Cau em di NTUC mua Gao. :(

Why would one trust someone posting on sbf which no one met before ? Who in the world in the rice business would introduce their suppliers to a new competition?

As for the exporters , would they risk offending their long standing clients just for a miserable 20ft container of 20ton rice and worse per month?! By the way a full 20ft container can roughly carry 21.5tons of rice.

First of all, I dont think you do not know about Rice Business yet.

I had worked in 2 years in a Trading Firm before and my friend had been in this line for few years. Everyone is trying to cut their cost by sourcing from some other countries. Round Rice are expensive if we source from Australia, New Zealand and Japan etc. Due to the increase in Logistics Cost, he is looking into Vietnam now for new source. All Business transaction are mostly by Letter of Credit (LC) through Bank. Furthermore my friend is not looking into short term business but long term.

For your info, I had been in the Logistics Industries for more than 15 years; well versed in Logisitcs, Supply Chain and Trade Complaince. I'm trying to help him as a friend and also some additional income for me if the business is successful.

Additionally, we had 2 suppliers in HCM which we are going to meet them and we want to make the trip fruitful, we are looking for more suppliers to check on their Grade of Round Rice.

Thus, if any bros in this forum happen to know any Rice Exporter, please let me know.

Just for your info , I think I know who your friend is , there is this fellow which is always asking around with this size for round rice . So if you are in the market as you claim you should know this rice biz is a very small world

I bet they all know each other; rice in VN should be very close to been a Monopoly.
