Any news on Micah Richards? Will we still be buying him? He is not bad. Quite muscular.

Rodgers was interested in a season long loan but Manchester City wanted the move to be permanent and reportedly priced him at £7 million.

Liverpool are preparing a bid for Real Madrid's playmaker Isco. :D

Actually BR no need to buy any striker if only those available are the likes of Remy, Bony etc... he should look at the academy instead as there is a young talented striker who has been matching Robbie Fowler's age group goal scoring records. In the last 2 pre-season games he was picked for both games and scored in both games. I am talking about young Kristoffer Peterson aka the new "Robbie Fowler" as he is nicknamed by those in the Acacdemy.

For the past few years in the age groups competition he has been scoring goals at the rate of 2 out of every 3 games. BR should blood him into the 1st team and solve the striker problem.

Kristoffer was loaned out to Tranmere Rovers last season..... playing in the lower leagues is very different from playing in the BPL. He may have been banging in the goals in the lower leagues does not mean he can do the same in the BPL. I remember he was the top scorer in the U-18s league when he joined Liverpool in 2011 and was the 1st Liverpool scholarship winner.... but somehow he just could not break into the 1st team and was loaned out last season. Hopefully he can get a 2nd chance under BR this season... his playing style is similar to Henrik Larsson.

If reports are true, Lovren n Remy seemed imminent to sign for Pool n the deals are expected to be completed within the wk.

That'll bring our signings to 7 this season.

It'll be an immense challenge for BR to blend 7 (n likely more!) new players into the team, juz like Spurs last season when they brought in a few high profile players but who struggled to blend. But it helped that most of our players hv EPL experience so our situation might not be too bad.

It looks like another rebuilding season for Pool. Will it be reasonable for management to set BR a KPI of a top 4 finish? It'll be tough but I think given the circumstances it'll be quite an achievement.

after last season, the minimum benchmark 2014/15 season

Champion League - knock out stage
BPL - Top 4 finish
FA Cup - Semi - finals
League Cup - Finals

Wow think you have too high expectations there!

To me what is of paramount importance is to sustain CL football for the following season and beyond, nothing else matters as the money/top players lies with constant and consistent participation in CL football.

So top 4 BPL finish is a must, the rest is secondary, would be nice icing on the cake though!

With the departure of Suarez, looks like Brenden Rodgers is now trying to spread out the goals amongst more Redmen this coming season.

Oh yes just read somewhere that Lucas Leiva may be joining his 'daddy' Rafa at Napoli.

after last season, wouldnt be the benchmark form the board be either league champion or min second place in the table! I opinion that since CL is in the fixture next season, think BR will ditch the league cup!

Steven Gerrard has just announced his retirement from international football, with 114 caps and 21 goals to his name. He mentioned that wanting to stay fit and fresh for Liverpool's upcoming season along with the added challenge of Champions League has partly influenced him to step down from the international stage.

While I feel sad for The Three Lions and Steven Gerrard himself, his decision might just prove to be crucial for Liverpool.

Borini to stay???

http://www1.skysports.com/football/n...y-at-liverpool

I thought 14m was a good deal to sell Borini to Sunderland. This is ~2.5x of Remy's asking price! But if what his agent says is true, Borini will be staying to fight for a place! Despite him possibly be 4th or 5th in the pecking order! Very interesting development indeed!

This is a very realistic target for Liverpool for next season.

1) BPL - Since Liverpool miss the title the last season by 2 points , the Reds should try to win it this season. Liverpool need to pick up another 6 points to win the title.

2) Champions League - I don't expect the team to proceed further than the group stage.

3) FA Cup - This is a cup that Liverpool should also try to win.

4) Capitol One Cup - Would be nice if Liverpool can reach the final of the Capitol One Cup.

The FA Cup & The Capitol One Cup would give the youngsters a chance to pick up experience in the senior team.

haha...good benchmark...:)

if Pool dun proceed to knock out stage then will suffer financial loss...:p
