Yup, meaning we cannot be drawn in Groups D, E and G. Neither will we face English clubs in the knock out rounds..

We do not have to face any English clubs in the 2nd round KO stage but have to face any team drawn from the QF onwards.

Sounds interesting, then would fit Sturridge together with Balotelli in a 3-5-2 but then how to include the likes of Lallana, Sterling and Markovic in at the sametime? ?

Sterling & Markovic can be the wingbacks......lol

He just need to put on his basic discipline and don't get sent off, chase after the ball...that's all I need him to do...then we should be alright....I guess ;)

Tonite's game is not so smooth sailing as last year's...... Spurs are now playing like a stronger & slicker version of last year's Southampton team which gave Liverpool many problems. If BR gets his tactics wrong tonite...... Liverpool could be in for a thrashing.

Yes Chelsea look like the team to beat this season.

They were ruthless last night. They have so many stars n match winners ... Fab, Hazard, Costa, Matic ... Even defender Ivanovic plays n shoots like a striker n pops up with a goal occasionally. Surprised their defence was so leaky ... They dun usually ship in too many goals ... Maybe they were in attacking mood.

Last night's results show that no team in epl should be belittled. Stoke can beat MC at home, Burnley nearly beat MU, Palace forced a 3-3 draw at Newcastle, tonight don't be surprised if Leicester can upset Arsenal.

"This has been our home and somewhere we have been very happy and settled. However, more recently I have started to feel the effects of playing regularly in a league that is as physically demanding as the Premier League is, and I would not want to stay if I did not think that I was able to meet that challenge week in, week out."

"The club itself is very special and I shall remain a supporter for the rest of my life. I regard every game I played at Anfield as a privilege."

Xabi Alonso said goodbye to Real Madrid on Friday and admitted he turned his back on a possible return to the Premier League because he did not want to spoil his Liverpool legacy.

The former Spain midfielder, who joins Bayern Munich from Real Madrid after five years at the club, has been linked with a return to England with former coach Jose Mourinho in the past and even to former rivals Manchester United this summer.

But speaking from the Bernabeu he said: 'I had five great years at Liverpool and I would rather just keep that memory as it is."

Another legend.....!!

Glen Johnson is likely to be ruled out of the trip to London.

Martin Skrtel has picked up an injury in the closing stages of the match against Manchester City. Should he not recover in time, an all new defensive line up could be born for Liverpool.

Javier Manquillo, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno

Mario Balotelli and Adam Lallana are expected to make their debut.

Mignolet

Javier Manquillo, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno

SG , Henderson

Sterling , Sturridge , Coutinho

Mario

I am hoping that the team gets all 3 points. Don't really mind the scoreline though. A clean sheet would be nice .

Mario Balotelli starts the match, while Glen Johnson and Martin Skrtel misses out through injury. Mamadou Sakho and Javier Manquillo replaces them.

Adam Lallana does not make the 18 and Philippe Coutinho is dropped to the bench.

Liverpool team in full: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Sakho, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Sterling, Sturridge, Balotelli.

Substitutes: Jones, Enrique, Toure, Lambert, Coutinho, Can, Markovic.
