I counted 5

He is definitely not yet match fit but I can see him contributing at least 20 goals for the Reds this season when he regains his match fitness and sharpness. :p

Lol. Although he missed it was good to see at least he was at the right place at the right time to take those chances. Hopefully give him time to be match fit n blend in with the team, he'll be on the scoresheet soon.

If the team plays like a typically Liverpool squad, I say 4 points.

Yes, 7 pts will be great, 9 pts fantastic, 5 pts (spurs draw) also acceptable n nothing to be ashamed of, but pls don't lose to Saints at home! Opening home game n a 'weakened' Saints somemore! I still remembered how Saints beat us 0-1 at Anfield last season, breaking our 4 match unbeaten run, in a match we controlled but did not convert our chances.

will be quite good if we can secure 7 out of 9 points...disastrous if we have anything less than 5 points...

now the answer is out...we got 6 points out of possible 9 points...:)

compared to last season we gained 3 points...^^
last season lost to Southampton(-3) - this season won Southampton (+3)
last season lost to MC (-3) - this season lost to MC (-3)
last season won Tottenham - this season won Totteham (+3)

next few games in Sep 2014 - EPL
14 Sep @ 12.30am - Aston Villa (H)
21 Sep @ 12.30am - West Ham (A)
27 Sep @ 7.45pm - Everton (H)

we need to secure 9 points for these 3 games since we beat all 3 teams last season...:)

17 Sep - Ludigorets (H) CL game
24 sep - Middlesbrough (H) CC game

we definitely have a bigger squad than last year...think we can challenge in most fronts...:)

All in I would say it has been quite a good August for the Reds, if you had told me 6 points out of 9 from those fixtures beforehand, considering all the squad changes, I would have taken it.

September fixtures look manageable, but the big question mark still remains i.e. how to solve the shaky defence?? To be honest, if Sakho, Skrtel, Lovren etc. continue playing in this dodgy manner, the Reds are going to pay a heavy price sooner or later. BR and his defence coach need to use this International friendlies break wisely.

Also hate to say this but I think Gerrard needs to up his game, he has been quite mediocre all August , actually I think his mediocre form goes back to Brazil WC 14'. BR needs to have the courage to substitute his captain if Gerrard's form does not improve quickly.

Sometimes we have to look at the whole set up of Liverpool's defense. BR likes to play an attacking game. Hence all the players move up to attack. In fact if you had noticed the backline is playing almost close to the centre half. So Liverpool had an area left exposed back in their own half. So whenever the opposition grabs the ball back. Liverpool will be in deep trouble. The opposition will launch a quick counter attack.

Second thing to look at is the defensive midfielder. The defensive midfielder's job is to provide protection for the back four. He should quick enough to read the game and quick enough to stop the opposition.Sadly this is too is missing.

This is really sensational news. Heard a desperate club has signed Falcao for 12m on a season long loan. This is despite the club already having 2 world class strikers leading the frontline. Havin splurged so much, this club would be a real laughing stock if they do not finish among top 4 this season.

Meanwhile, Pool are in talks to sign free agent Victor Valdes.

yes...big news last min deal... Falcao agreed to be loaned to MU rather than sold to MC or Arsenal...heard RVP going for surgery and will be out for a period...:)

Yes, good insight bro. So somehow BR needs to address these issues, if not Reds may be in big trouble with regards to the top 4 battle , now made even more interesting and tougher with the sudden arrival of Falcao at United.

Before the transfer window closes in a few hours time ... Sebastian Coates could be heading to Sunderland while Borini could be joining QPR for 10m pounds instead of Sunderland. Ousama Assaidi in talks with Stoke on a loan deal.

Will Pool make any more last minute surprise signing??? Valdes will be an interesting and needful signing.

I wonder why did Liverpool leave the signing of a backup goalkeeper so late. I dread to think that Liverpool may not even get this goalkeeper and we will be stuck with Mignolet.
