All the new signings are not so important compared to the signing of Pako Ayestaran as BR's number 2.

Pako was Benitez's tactician when Liverpool won the CL. He had been with RB too when Valencia won the La Liga and Tenerife won promotion to the La Liga.
Pako is a master tactician and winner as he proved after leaving RB & Liverpool with the teams he joined all ending up as winners. Hopefully he does not lose his Midas touch when he rejoins Liverpool next month. :D

What I feel Liverpool needs more urgently now are CBs..... Lovren's confidence is shattered and he is playing like a schoolboy now.... Kolo Toure cannot play consecutive games due to age catching up.... Sakho is injury prone..... although Andre Wisdom is back but he is not tested at BPL level...... that leaves Skrtel as our only CB..... and we need Emre Can in midfield and cannot always play him in defence.

I thought BR bought Joe Gomez. Isn't he a centre back?
Rumors BR is bidding for Javier Hernandez from Man U.
Why does he want another striker? Liverpool oredi have Firmino, Ings, Sturridge, Balotelli, Borini, Lambart, Origi & Ibe as forwards.

Gomez is likely to be loan out.
Ings and Origi will take time to settle in Liverpool, Firmino is not a full pledge striker while Sturridge is mooted to be available in October.
Balotelli and Lambert are not going to drive Liverpool forward while Rodgers has frozen Borini out.

Firmino - Hmmm ... I think Firmino is largely deployed more of an attacking midfielder altho he had also played as a striker.

Sturridge - I don't have full trust in his fitness. Need to factor him taking MC for 1/2 or 1/3 of a season.

Origi - He started well for Lille but fizzled out in the later part of the season. Think he might need time to gel with his new squad.

Ings - Did well for Burnley last season, he's a decent player but reckon he's a 10-15 goal player. Could deploy him more in Cup competitions.

Lambert - Likely be sold. Think won't be short of takers esp the lower EPL and championship teams.

Ballotelli - No comments

Think we still need a marquee forward who can spearhead Pool's attack, the kind of strikers with big impact like Suarez and Torres. Difficult la, our budget will be even more limited now unless we sell a few more players. So far, Bacca (but latest news AC is close to signing him liao) and Llorente are linked, good if we can sign 1 of them.

Above juz my personal opinion and for friendly discussion, no flaming wars hor!

in my opinion, super mario must score much MORE goal if he stays.
if he 1s 2 leave, he should leave on a high $ after proving himself in the bpl.

Firmino is not an out and out striker.

Sturridge cannot be relied on because he is injury prone. We suffered alot upfront because of his injuries last season, cannot have a repeat next season.

Origi and Ings needs time to settle.

Lambert and Borini most probably on their way out.

Balotelli, now this one is an enigma. I still think he is good but unfortunately under BR's current system of 1 striker upfront just does not suit Mario's style, so most likely he is on his way out as well.

So bottom line, I agree we still need a full impact striker now. Hernandez and Bacca would be good, not sure about Llorente now. Whoever it is, this chap shall probably be the final piece in the jigsaw as to whether the Reds can make a real push back into the top 4 next season.

By the way, i am hopeful that likes of Loveren, Lallana, Markovic can make a real impact next season, also Can in a DM role more suited to him.

Brazil have been knocked out of Copa America and this is a blessing in disguise.

Should Brazil had progressed to the semi-finals or finals, Coutinho and Firmino would have missed Liverpool's pre-season.

It is going to be a challenge to sign a marquee striker therefore Liverpool should pounce on the opportunity to sign Javier Hernandez.

Stevan Jovetic could be an alternative option but this guy has a history of injuries.

There are sufficient attacking talent in Liverpool and it would be best to supplement Balotelli with Firmino or Ings.

This lad is a classic forward who is unable to function on his own but does well with a partner.

Strengthening the midfield is the way to go as I do not see Can, Henderson, and Milner playing in the Premier League, Europa League, and FA or Captial One Cups.

Yes, there is Lucas but he is slightly above average while Allen is useless which makes Fabian Delph a good buy.

Pierre.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

As usual with any new batch of players coming to Anfield , Liverpool need to give them sometime to settle in. You can expect instant success . The problem that Liverpool have are that to do with the manager. This time around the manager can't say he did not get any support from FSG. FSG is really opening up the check book this time around. What I would like to see from the manager is give each and every player that he had brought to be given a fair chance to play. If he can play Bolettelli so many games I can't see why he can't play Borini as well . Also The manager should devise a system of play to utilise the best position of the player. No point you play the player not in his natural position. I suspect BR still walking a thin line . He need to provide results in the first 6 games of the new season. If not he will be the first casualty of the new season. Now Liverpool needs a DM as well as a proven striker to complete his transfers.

I think the British newspaper have an issue with Liverpool players.
They targeted Luis Suarez, then Raheem Sterling, now moved to Roberto Firmino.
Just because Brazil got kicked out of the competition and Firmino had a quiet game, they put the blame on him.
Weird people.

Bacca has agreed to join Milan instead of Liverpool.
