The Origi-Benteke partnership has been in existence for some years already with both playing in Belgium's youth teams.... and they complement each other very well too.

Liverpool can forget about DS until he recovers to full match fitness. By then the season will be over . If Benteke stays fit and if the manager uses the player correctly he will definitely score more goals than Liverpool's current 4 strikers. Really hope BR will use 2 strikers instead of 1 .

Surprise to see Joe Gomez playing at left back . Not forgetting that this guy usually plays at right back and centre back for Charlton .

In another surprising rumour Sahko been offered to Lazio ? Reus may not becoming to Liverpool ? Lambert being pursued by West Brom ?

Will this be the way the players will lined up next season ?

Provided Benteke passes his medical test.

maybe that's also part of the reason why Benteke was signed - i.e to complement Origi.

but i prefer Roman Lukaku tho. :D

Leaving out either Coutinho or Firmino is not an option.
Both must play.
From the way I see it, Firmino might link up with Benteke forward while Coutinho is the playmaker.

We can forget about Reus.
There are strong rumours that Real Madrid is going to bid for him.
Maybe that is the reason Rodgers is looking at Gotze.

Christian is apparently the final signing for Brendan.

Gotze, Reus, Illarramendi, Menez, Pedro, Mertens, Gourcuff, Kovacic, Pjanic, or Lacazette is not going to happen this summer.

Pierre.

It is reported that Lazio wants Sakho.

Yeah read about Sampdoria's ridiculous 'offer' for Mario, wtf?!

How is this Joe Maguire?

Hope Sakho ain't for sale.

He looked decent in pre-season and lets hope he develops well.
By the way, he was born in Manchester.

Confirmation on Benteke's signing is expected today as Firmino and Coutinho returns report back to Melwood for training.

I think we will play a few systems instead of 1 fixed formation. Milner is mostly seen as a direct replacement for Gerrard. Your diagram leaves out wingers like Lallana, Ibe, Markovic. Highly unlikely with the wages they are on.

Please read this article. Very well-written. http://www.espnfcasia.com/club/liver...ling-confusion. I've highlighted parts of the article in bold.

When such conversation turns towards these plans, most managers are scornful of discussing formations. Some will tell you that all of those combinations (4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2) are broadly the same when you set them out. Others will sigh, exasperated, and point out that the thing journalists and fans alike never understand is that you play one formation with the ball and one without. They don't teach their players what to do in one shape, but in two, three or four, depending on the context of the game.

Even now, some managers will tell you that it does not really matter how you construct a side because it all comes down to the quality of the players. That may seem a somewhat Jurassic approach to things but it contains a kernel of truth. Tactical coaching is as much about developing individual movements and curating partnerships as it is about instructing an entire team. The players you have define how you play a system.

Nevertheless, such formations provide a useful shorthand for us mere mortals. They may not represent exactly what a manager is trying to do and they may not capture every nuance, but they are still the best approximation we have. Things tend to be better when you can tell, more or less, what the general idea is, when you have some inkling of how a team might look.

Appreciate the link bro, very much food for thought.

Well which ever way you look at it, one thing is pretty much clear, either BR get's Lfc back into the CL for season 16/17 or he is going to get the boot and rightly so.

By the way, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but Benteke kind of reminds me of Emile Heskey? Hope Benteke scores a whole lot more goals than Heskey though!
