Fantastic goal by Coutinho, good starts from Gomez , Milner and Benteke. Lallana abit disappointing though. Overall very pleased with the result, an important opening win with three points in the bag!

if the do not buke up, it would not be always so lucky to win everytime.

Ugly win but in d end it's 3 precious pts that matters.
It helped that Stoke was a pale shadow of the side that thrashed us last year and they rarely threatened.
Benteke still need time to gel with the rest, our defence was (once again) comical at times. If it's a stronger team we might hv been punished.
Next match agt BM is a must win!

We were very lucky to get the three points.
Should Stoke have had some of their keys players like Shawcross and Bojan in the team we could have lost.

I noticed Rodgers changed his style of play.
He seem to deploy a 4-2-3-1 with short and long passes.
Gomez and Clyne rarely bombed forward.
Now I wonder why he did not change his game last season to suit Lambert or allow Balotelli to have a partner.
Once again this has displayed Rodgers' favoritism towards some players.

My stand will never change.
Brendan Rodgers have to go.

I,can't agree with you more! Benteke whole afternoon waiting in the box for crosses! Milner also don't seem comfortable playing at that position! Again BR is a hootball genius!:D

I'm surprised Stoke can sign players like Bojan Krkic, Affellay and may sign Shaqiri. These players seemed to be the players we are normally associated with. I wonder why we didn't go in for Shaqiri. He is quite good as can be seen during last year's World Cup.

Good to get 3 points. Quite boring match at times leh. We should play 2 strikers. I think we are too cautious. Possibly because of the previous 6-1 thrashing. Benteke is really powerful. He is everything that Balotelli is meant to be for us. If only Balotelli isn't so lazy.

What really surprise is that BR continues to use 1 striker upfront.. Sure Benteke get marked. Don't know why BR don't use 2 strikers upfront. :eek: :confused:

15 minutes was not enough to make an impact!

On a more serious note. Many fans are speaking about Benteke or the defense boys. But where I come from the discussion is about Henderson and Milner.

These two are work horses and it was a mistake to play them both in the 4-2-3-1 formation. One of them should start in midfield and the other slot could be given to Can, Lucas or even drop Coutinho there while Ings played in the number 10 role flanked by Ibe and Lallana or Firmino.
