I don't see any evidence of this. Is this more tabloid trash?

What if the injury is a lie? I mean, could Mourinho have over-exaggerated a strain as a long term injury? After all, Carvalho was supposed to be injured too before he played in the semi-final against us. He played very well in that match. Too well to seem like someone who just fully recover...

saw the news and jose confirmed carvallo out for the rest of the season. if carvallo plays, jose would lose all respect for life. dont think he will do that for chelsea. irritating and a whiner jose may be, but dont think he would stoop to low blows like that. only a certain knighted manager would pull his players out from international games on pretences of minor injuries cos he has a team of miracle workers to work wonders for his players to play the following weekend.

back to the game, crouchie should play then. regardless of essien, paolo ferreira or that khalid guy taking over, the central defence is greatly weakened. now, liverpool will have more than a chance, maybe divine providence. the rest is up to them... would really be nice to see a fired-up pool team. havent seen that for quite a while. YNWA:D

Suddenly I miss Luis Garcia. You guys think Kewell will feature? Think he's fully recovered. He has the skill to gain an extra yard to put in a decent cross.

Ya,little Luis always raised to big occasion and scored crucial goal.
Regarding Kewell : http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drill...70430-1521.htm

And our Gaffer .....

Rafa Benitez believes Liverpool can reach the Champions League final in Athens even if Chelsea score a crucial away goal on Tuesday night.
The 1-0 scoreline at Stamford Bridge last week means the Reds will have to net three if Chelsea get a goal at Anfield.

But Benitez insists he won't panic if this happens – because he knows from experience what his players can do when the chips are down.

"For me, it's better if we don't concede. But we know we can score more than one goal. If we need to score three, okay, we have experience against Olympiacos," the Spaniard told an Anfield press conference on Monday.

"I know we were not playing at our level last week. That's the key for the second leg. If we play to our level I'm sure we will win."

Meanwhile, the Liverpool boss believes the Anfield atmosphere will be a problem for Jose Mourinho's men - despite the experience they have from two years ago.

"Our supporters – they are the special ones," said Benitez. "We don't need to talk about our supporters, it's enough just to hear them.

"At Stamford Bridge, we won in the stands, that was clear. The other supporters were with their flags, but our supporters were with their hearts. We don't need to give flags. It's easy for us.

"Our fans cannot give red cards or award penalties, but they can score goals. I like this about our supporters because we know they will show they are the best in the world again tomorrow night.

"I am sure you will see that Anfield is very difficult for Chelsea. They can say they've experienced it before, they can say it's not a problem, but it will be a problem for them.

"We are playing against a very good team, but we have confidence, and playing with 12 men is easy!"

I recall reading something like this too..... came across in some england liverpool supporters forum.
Hope it's not true.
While I fancy E'to..... departure of Xabi would be a big loss for the Reds.

Wouldn't worry about this bro. Xabi is Pool thru and thru. Just a bunch of disgruntled fans who want him out cos they *think* he is not playing well.

hi fellow pool supporter, though Xabi is spaniard but he's definitely a true red like you said. Yeah he's not playing too well lately, but to me it's still "form is temporary, but class is permanent" and let's hope the kop will raise his game tomorrow.....can't hardly wait to watch and hear the anfield choir!

Good to hear a vote of support for Xabi. Of course he is not raking those long balls to the wings as accurately or often as we like but people don't release the tidy work he does in midfield or in starting attacks. Neat and tidy does it. ;)

Rafa on the CL clash. Top bloke.

'At Stamford Bridge, we showed that our supporters won their battle, even though Chelsea had their fans all with flags to wave. But our supporters were there with their hearts.

'We do not need to give away flags for our fans to wave - our supporters are always there with their hearts and that is all we need.

'I aim to be concentrating on one competition after the semi-final, and I do not worry whether Chelsea have one or two to think about.

'They will know that Anfield is a difficult place for them. I know they can say it is not a problem and they have experienced it before, but we know it will be a problem for them.

'Our supporters, they are the special ones, that is clear. Chelsea know why.'

:D
