Arsenal and Chelsea have crashed out of the Capital Cup.
I think Liverpool stand a good chance to progress to the QF.
Costa is injured and is likely to miss this weekend's match with Liverpool.

Actually I don't care much for the LC, same goes for the FA Cup, l am much more interested in the EC for obvious reasons. Saying that, think the Bournemouth game later tonight is important for just one reason i. e. to get the proverbial monkey off Klopp and his team's back and get their first win after 9 draws!

As for Saturday's match against Chelsea, a win at the Bridge may well be a the turning point to the Reds season but let's not jump the gun and stick to tonight's game at Anfield first.

Oh dear, just read Benteke is out for tonight's game and also doubtful for the Chelsea match as well because of a knee injury!

I wonder who will be the striker tonite ? Origi or Firmino ? Allen playing. Liverpool really don't have much option in every department. I only hope it is not another 1-1 draw and a penalty shoot out. Don't know why Liverpool players can get injured so easily ?

That was why I mentioned we have 2 sick chickens strikers.

Liverpool is screwed again as Benteke is out of today's match with a knee injury and a big doubt for the match with Chelsea. This is getting very annoying.

Maybe we could use Balotelli but too bad Liverpool is unable to recall him!

ESPN: Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool are ahead of where he expected them to be as he aims for a first win in his fourth match in charge when Bournemouth visit Anfield in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.

Get the morale boosting big win in preparation for chelsea

Kolo Toure has limped out in the 30th minute with a hamstring injury. :(

Firmino is outstanding while Ibe and Bogdan are impressive. :D

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Delighted to finally see us win again!

Positives:

Firmino looks quality.

Clyne is a machine and has now shown that he can play on the left as well.

Ibe looked back to himself.

Teixeira looks like someone who should be getting more opportunities.

Lucas looks to be an important player for the team this season.

After a dodgy 1st half Randall raised his game significantly in the second half. Maybe Klopp had a word?

While it wasn't exactly a great performance, in the 2nd half we looked comfortably the better team.

Mignolet needs to be looking over his shoulder. Bogdan looked excellent.

Next target : a clean sheet against Chelsea away. Plus something like a repeat of the pressing and decent quality passing game we saw in tonight's Capital Cup win.

Let me end here with some calm rational words from Klopp:

"It's better than a draw," Klopp told Sky Sports with a wry smile:D

Please keep up the fine form and may be even bang in a goal or two at the Bridge this Saturday:p

I'm happy for Bogdan as he played really well while I also feel for him because he was number 1 at Bolton and now he is on the bench.
Huge talent wasted.
I was always shouting for Rodgers to play Teixeira and this young guy showed yesterday he has quality.
Teixeira reminds me of how Ronaldo played for Man Utd in the 2003/04 season.
Give Teixeira 2 seasons and I think the world will speak about him.

Our tricky Brazilian Firmino in yesterday's match.

Liverpool will travel to Southampton for the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.
Tough draw.

Really glad that Klopp and the team got the first win . Happy to see the young players really taking their chance well. I think Firmino should be the new No 10. The only thing is he should learn how to speak English. Hope the team keeps up the good work. It will be interesting to see how The Normal One and The Special One meet . :)
