Post trip report: I hadn't got much feedback from my post and was all but convinced that using one of the agencies would guarantee an overpriced bait-and-switch so I tried a different approach. The first night I was hoping to pull something out of the bar of my high-end hotel but there was nary a bird in sight. The second night I didn't want to take any chances so I set out to find Ace Anma as it seemed like they were foreigner friendly. Considering how hard of a city Seoul can be for a white guy who speaks no Korean, the Ace experience was a breeze.

It was basically exactly like all the blogs and reviews said to a T, small elevator and all. I got charged a "new" price of 280k instead of the 230k i had read but considering the locals coming and going and that they were letting me in, I was fine with it. After bit of a wait got taken upstairs to a Korean gal with a 9 body and 7 face. It was a positive full body experience with only a minor hint of perfunctory performance. All in all, super satisfied and enjoyable. A shade expensive compared to other Asian countries esp as was noted a strict "one hour or one shot" policy but seemed like a more fitting spend than the 500-800k the agencies wanted. I would highly recommend this route as a non-juiced in officetel alternative.

Don't get overcharged by the agencies. There is a local (Korean) site you can go to, but if obviously if you can't read Korean, then you won't know what to do.

500-800K for agency? Good quality agency (Bohemian Escort) only charged me 300K for great quality Korean gal, no bait and switch based on chat-sent image before booking (but completely different from the gal of same name on their website).

I dunno if they perhaps have a surcharge (2x?) for caucasian like you as I'm Asian (I don't think they have any ang moh surcharge, but I'm assuming you already inquired with them since they're quite known in this forum).

They are authentic but they charge you double of what you should really pay. Would be better if you went with a local that knows the scene

Is there alot strip salon in gangnam? Or just a centralised one that all agency go to?

If you can't find anyone, you can also go solo. The price you pay should be 350K Won at the most when going by yourself. The better ones are in Gangnam. PM me if you need details.

Since read light entertainment is considered illegal, the strip salons are hidden. In order to find them, you have to use a Korean site.

Anyhow, there isn't a difference in terms of service, the reason for the price difference depends on how much they are planning to over charge you by.

Yes, if you don't know anyone in Korea, using an agency can be convenient, but keep in mind they are overcharging you by double!
