Valencia CF (From WIKIPEDIA)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Ben%C3%ADtez

[edit] Champions of Spain
In 2001 Benítez was appointed coach of Valencia CF, replacing Hector Cuper. Despite the loss of both Gaizka Mendieta and Claudio López, he inherited from Cuper a team brimming with potential. Santiago Canizares, Roberto Ayala, Rubén Baraja, David Albelda and Pablo Aimar provided the backbone of an already formidable side.

Valencia CF fans were soon won over by Benítez when he introduced a more attacking style of play. He also made use of both Mista and Curro Torres. Mista was top scorer at Valencia CF with 19 goals in 2003/04 and Curro Torres became an established international. In 2002, these tactics saw Benítez lead Valencia CF to their first La Liga title in thirty one years, winning it by a seven point margin over second placed Deportivo de La Coruna. The club failed to follow up on their title success during the following season. In 2003 they finished only fifth in La Liga, eighteen points behind Real Madrid. The season saw Benítez make his debut in the UEFA Champions League. Valencia CF reached the quarter-finals, after emerging from a group that had included Liverpool.

We do need more players who can score more but why would you want to bench a player (Pennant) who is coming into his own and do a Shevchenko or Ballack? As I said above, I would prefer to spend on the left, if Harry cannot maintain his fitness for 10 games.

We are still like Valencia 2001. Wish we could be more like Valencia 2004. Wish we had a player like Mista who can score 19 goals in a season. I agree Pennant will be super solid by next season. But he does need another good right winger to cover for him when he gets tired or injured. We play 50 plus games per season. Or simply to push him to a higher level. Look at how Finnan reacted whenever Rafa tries to get another right back.

I wonder if he's shrewd or because our budget is not big. I agree Alves is brilliant. Will you pay megabucks for proven quality like him? I wish we will.

Hell, we must belong to the same hell. I see 10 goals from him at least, plus 10 assists per season. Joaquim (Wa-kim) was a very exciting player during the World Cup too. The way he runs at defenders is scary. Looks like a Figo in his prime. :D

This gentleman obligation comes about becoz Moyes has been "nurtured" on the sly by Fergie ... this was recorded on an interview where Moyes admitted constantly getting guidance from Fergie on the phone.
Moreover, both are Scots ... & I'm pretty sure even an Englishman would rather Fergie win the title than to let any of the other Big 3 managers win, since they know they are incapable of winning the title themselves. The kampung spirit still apply very much to angmos too.

no wonder scots wear skirts...

well..i learn something new today...angmo support their own ethnic group....yes..the big 4 consist of a scot, a portuguese, a spainard and a french...seems like a high influx of foreign manager as comapare to the past....but inevitably..they r the ones that outperform the englishman....

There's a delay telecast on ESPN from 12.30am-2.30am on 14/5/07 between Liverpool & Charlton.

i totally second that... what's more, he always plays very well against manure!!! now that single reason would justify signing him!!! if we dont get ronaldinho, that is... hor, bro rahl???:D

have always been a great admirer of joaquin!!! 20 goals in his 1st season for pool in all competitions lah, that i can guarantee!!! cos the way he plays, he is physical too, very suited for EPL style as well. luis figo is my all time favourite right winger together with chris waddle. imagine a faster, taller and bigger figo running at u at full speed, that's joaquin!!! saw him play against real madrid recently... he was singlehandedly causing all the problems in the madrid defence, not to mentioned he created the valencia goal for morientes... but when he was subbed out, valencia couldnt even muster a meaningful attack after that...

Morten Gamst Pedersen

He certainly is playing well for Blackburn, scoring and creating goals, and not to forget he score tons of goals against manure some season back, and blackburn won that game haha.

It would certainly good to find a true blue left winger, Kewell, is good, but seems like he got some injury jinx, hope to see him run at players more in the coming season.

joaquin

He certainly looks muscular, just like Figo, but I understand he sign for Valencia at the start of this season right? Hopefully Rafa can convince his former employer to release him and Villa haha.

aiyah bro...my guess is that the above clone is the one who zapped me and leave behind the stupid msg that Pool CMI...he just register a bloody nick to 'suan' the greatest team in this planet...

aiyah..it goes a long way to show a certain supporter from a certain team in this planet has no balls and should behave like a good old Scots Man in wearing skirt...

really shamed the team he supported... anyway he can 'suan' all he want..but end of the day..as if that certain team gonna give him the 'KNIGHT' status for his useless contribution of 'suaning'..maybe a place in the ASYLUM suits such a 'dog'...:D
