Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Job is done but what is the next excuse if players choose not to sign for us?
Because we are only in the play-off so that does not project many CL matches? Waiting for transfer window. |
Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
When you consider .....
Karius didn't quite work out We had a midfielder at left back Sturridge barely kicked a ball Henderson Mane and Coutinho missed huge chunks of the season We didn't have a recognised striker We had to compete against the millions of Chelsea, City and United The emergence of Spurs We hardly spent any money So all things considered..... We did a pretty good job, and once again well done to Jurgen and the boys:cool: |

ESPN piece by Dale Johnson.
Liverpool will be one of the five seeded clubs in the Champions League playoff round after they sealed their place with a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp's men knew a victory would secure a return to the competition but, with Manchester City also winning their match at Watford, Liverpool had to settle for a place in the final qualifying round after finishing fourth. With Borussia Dortmund securing a direct route to the group stage on Saturday, and Zenit St Petersburg missing out on the competition completely by finishing third in Russia, Liverpool are guaranteed to be seeded. Sporting Lisbon are the top-ranked unseeded club, but will be seeded if Ajax win the Europa League and automatically move up to the group stage. Facing Sporting, or a long trip to take on CSKA Moscow, could be the most difficult playoff round draw, though Mario Balotelli's Nice and Hoffenheim may also be ones to avoid. Ten teams enter in the third qualifying round, with the five winners going through to join the five teams who enter at the playoff round stage. Champions League playoff seeded clubs: Sevilla, Napoli or Roma, Dynamo Kiev*, Ajax*, Liverpool Unseeded clubs (five from 10): Sporting Lisbon, Viktoria Plzen*, CSKA Moscow*, Club Brugge*, Steaua Bucharest*, Young Boys*, Hoffenheim, Nice*, Istanbul Basaksehir or Besiktas*, runners-up in Greece* * Starts in third qualifying round |
Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
To put it in a nutshell only top 3 teams in the EPL have direct entry to Champions League . Liverpool still have to play in the playoffs and that it itself is no guarantee that they will be successful or not . So I really don't know why Klopp is so happy for what . Liverpool still have not achieved anything yet . The only thing Liverpool have to show for is that they finish in 4th position which is an improvement from last season position of 8 . Really I hope Liverpool will not make any mistakes in the coming transfer window.

1) Klopp 1st full season in EPL with Liverpool and quality for CL playoff 2) This season, spent less than BR yet qualify for CL playoff 3) Above Man Utd and Arsenal 4) After 8 yrs, 2nd CL The list goes on... Why shouldn't Klopp be happy with the above??? If u expect Klopp to do wonder to Liverpool from the 1st day he was employed then u are not being realistic. Face the truth, Liverpool has been lagging far behind big clubs for past yrs. |
