I can only recall the first somdej made is abt 200 yrs ago, Somdej Orahang. I might be wrong.
The famous Somdej by Somdej Toh also abt 150 yrs old.

The best way is to get from the temple. But if u have trusted dealer or shop then u can get from them. Most of my amulets are directly from the temples.
JTK quite easy to get n not ex cos JTK only recent "in" amulet.

for JTK, theres other mantras around, if you're keen i have one or two pieces of JTK that i've kept that you might be interested.
