Why Liverpool might have been given a boost ahead of Man Utd clash - as Mourinho's key man Fellaini injured

Marouane Fellaini has suffered a knee injury while on international duty

Liverpool might have been given a boost ahead of their clash with Manchester United next week - after one of Jose Mourinho's key men Marouane Fellaini suffered a knee injury while on international duty.

It means Mourinho has been dealt a fresh injury concern - with Fellaini's resurgence at Old Trafford seeing him labelled as "undroppable" by large sections of United supporters.

Suarez and Neymar fighting over Coutinho

By Olivavu - October 9, 2017

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is at the centre of a tug of war between two superstars.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, who used to play with Coutinho at Anfield, is desperately trying to persuade his former colleague to make the move to Spain to join him at the Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Brazil international Neymar is reported to be trying to convince Coutinho to forget about a move to Spain and instead follow him in making the move to France to play for big-spending Paris Saint Germain.

This is according to a report in Spanish newspaper Don Balon, who are claiming that the two South American heavyweights are vying to encourage Coutinho to join them at their respective clubs.

Coutinho, meanwhile, was announced as one of the thirty players on the shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or in recognition of his progression into a world-class talent at Anfield.

Another Spanish newspaper, Sport, are claiming that Barcelona have cooled their interest in Coutinho and are looking to instead take Spurs midfielder Dele Alli to the Camp Nou.

Liverpool were adamant that Coutinho would not be leaving in the Summer and that position is unlikely to have changed, so Suarez and Neymar are wasting their energy.

Can ‘honoured’ by Juventus interest

By Olivavu - October 9, 2017

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has admitted that he is ‘honoured’ by interest his services from Juventus.

The Italian giants are still looking to snap up the Germany international whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool have long been in negotiations with Can’s representatives, but there has been no agreement found to extend the deal which expires in the Summer of 2018.

Juventus attempted to take Can to Serie A in the Summer, but Liverpool refused to enter negotiations after rejected an offer worth around £30m from the Italians.

But his latest comments on the situation suggest that the former Bayer Leverkusen man is very much keeping his options open as he considers his future beyond the end of the current campaign.

“It’s always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club.” he said.

“Currently though I’m just focused on the season with Liverpool. My agent takes care of the rest.

“The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must always respect other big clubs and leagues.” he finished.

Reports have claimed that Can is looking for a release clause to be included in any new contract and the club are not prepared to accept such terms and so an impasse has been reached.

Time to rope in Milner to midfield.
Wasting his talents on the bloody bench.
