All you need to know about Batam as a 1st timer (or newbie)are on my signature link,bro. The guides (in my signature) there was written when i was you,hehehe... ;) They are the consolidated information of all that i read in this thread,well...or should i say MOST of it. You answers to your question asked are there and even answers to questions which you will be asking later.

There is no such thing as a good/best place to recommend in Batam,there is only the most suitable place when you were there to physically experience it in your trip. Nearly everything a newbie need (and will ask) are on my signature links. Give you an example,i am allergic to sea food,but Batam is a paradise for most sea food lovers,hehehe...

I always remind myself,I was once a 1st time Batam visitor too.

In Batam,its hard to find A house to Rent, when there's a vacant, someone will move in quickly. Back then,took me a while to find a house to rent which have good environment and value. Anyways I was at Batam yesterday and I saw a vacant house for Rent at Bengkong and 1 at Prima Garden next to GoldenPrawn.
I think standard is $150-$300 a month depend on the size and location.

Haha..finally you tried the Burger Massage!...well back then when I twice tried the burger massage package...I had the same situation too. Yes,the distance is about same as walking from Formosa to Nagoya Hill Mall if that is not an issue to you.Walking from Formosa to City View Hotel is similar. New Berry is just beside Hotel City View (if you minus that noisy bird shop..lol). The map below will guide you :

Wat outrage? Tere's no outrage @ u at all,i see tere's only directions to help u seek answers. Yr objective here to seek answers 4 yr questions? U already got it from sm1 experience enough. At the least,i knw he wn't sobotage u like me by giving u half bake answers which likely lead u to sm bad places in batam. :D

Questions tat r asked humbly with sm sensitivity to others wil often be answered or at least a direction be given in a matter of time. Tere's a difference btw slapping sm1 with a question & asking a question. :p

No one owes anyone anything,be it real world or internet world. I learned smthg in the internet,while sharing is caring..but sharing info with the wrg person can becm scary.

Just a suggestion/IMHO/please ignore if you dun like.

After being hounded by crook stealth agents, and their cohorts/clones for years, I now know some of their traps/tricks. They will usually start by creating havoc/battle on location threads where they want to operate at.

They aim to make genuine contributors so mad, so exasperated, that many will just stop posting; they organize gangs, mass zap and at the same time post tempting but incomplete posts to trap you. They will also post up plaintive newbie-type posts to lure helpful genuine Samsters to either their den of thieves or to pump out more info etc. with which to attack/discredit later on.

I had thought that with the wealth of information on here, the quite easy accessibility of Batam, and since most here seem to favor lower priced options, that scamming opportunities would be quite limited. But I guess other locales are now so crowded with these crooks - PLUS Batam IS such a large market for Singaporeans - that they would be trying to break in here now.

Common counter-attack tactics do not work - whether you meet these crooks head-on, expose them, do your own zapping etc! They are too well organized, have unlimited number of nicks/clones they will deploy in tangent or in replacement of ones used AND they are in it for the money; none of us are really a match for them. They create havoc, start arguments, fill threads with bile and hatred, target a particular nick – EVEN ONE THEY CREATE THEMSELVES - they divide and conquer. And note that they DO have sooooo many tactics/tricks up their sleeves that its practically impossible to spot some of them.

I suggest that the only thing you can/should do is to just totally ignore these crooks; otherwise you will just be playing into their ploy to cause havoc and will destroy this great thread. Just glance through many of the other location threads filled with so much crap/havoc that you can never be sure if anything you read is true or just another trap set by these slime-balls.

Again, apologies if you don’t like what I write/please just ignore.
