Exactly Pak's style of getting taxi rides. Always remember they are plenty of taxis plighting the streets whereby there's always one willing to accept.

I always just offer 20k.

Not only there....it happens all over the world regarding this kind of biz. When u go to Thailand Bkk or Hatyai, China, Vietnam, Cambodia.....these guys offers u cheap rides at the cost of maybe just to cover their petrol for the trip. Their main income comes from the rebate from massage parlours and call girls

Oh, and I found a gem of a resto very near DE BOTTLE (DB). It's called KEZ'S BAKERY & RESTAURANT (KBR). One block away from DB only. Serves Wagyu (Australia). MSG/Preservative-free.

Ground floor is bakery/bread. Upper floor is dining.

Been there 3 times over the past few days and tried their cuisine (fine dining).

The chef (Danny - Indo-chinese) won culinary competitions in Dubai and Bali.

Went with a partner :

Day 1 (RP207K)
============
1 x Gado Gado (not the usual street / nagoya restos. it's french fusion gado gado)

1 x Kez's Burger (for me it is better than DB's Black Burger bec one can cut the burger patty with just a fork... Chef doesn't grill it as the juice will be gone - he sears the patty retaining the natural flavours)

1 x Japanese Stones (April promotion dessert) - 4 x lumps of chocolate ice cream coated in 90% dark chocolate with raspberry sauce , menthol leaves , etc. Really looks like smooth black stones (the chocolate ice cream lumps coated in dark chocolate)

1 x Vietnam coffee (strong, flavorful - mantap!)

As we both are not very heavy eaters - we shared.

Day 2 (RP209K)
============
1 x Kez's Salad

1 x Neptune Catch (if anyone loves fish - really must try. The day's catch marinated with 5 different spices and seared ... I not able to describe the wonderful taste). We had red snapper steak on this day and the spices and juices from the fish blended together.....

1 x Kez's Fried Rice (again not able to describe the taste ..). The chicken pieces... looks fried and skin-crusted - but is not.. just dunno how to describe it.

1 x Vietnam Coffee (for sure !)

Because we were so impressed with the fine cuisine (and absolutely no way in hell one can get such quality food and ambience at such prices in SG), we made reservation for Day 3 - asking Aldo (maitre'D) to inform the chef to create a 3 course dinner - and dishes to be not in the menu but borne from his creativity and passion.

Day 3 (RP670K) (I wished I took pictures)
============
2 x Appetizer (break sticks with thinly sliced cucumber with balsamic vinegar with custom XO sauce etc, and fruit cuts - strawberry, melon). Light, tangy, refreshing. He says its to activate the tastebuds for what is to come later.

Maincourse 1 : Wagyu steak with boiled egg yolk with balsamic sauce with teriyaki sauce and worchester sauce blended in. With japanese rice cooked with mushrooms seasoned with french spices. (this one is the wagyu winner ... my partner had foodgasm there/then lol!)

Maincourse 2 : Seared chicken breast with multiple flavours -curry,balsamic, peppers, I dunno what .. too many flavours - sweet, sour, spicy, tangy, salty, my tastebuds went into overdrive. On the side was potato skin pan-fried seasoned with 6 different spices .. I dunno what.. I was already blur with the wagyu.

2 x Dessert... the champion .. never in my life had I ever tasted such ....
The dessert which won Chef Danny the competition at Bali. One word : OMG
I dunno how to describe the taste... - the 25% white chocolate sprinkled with madagascar chocolate beads with raspberry sponge cake rolled with 65% dark chocolate, with strawberry cotton-wool-sponge flake, with biscuit wafer with chocolate pop-rocks with fruit sauces.

1 x Vietnam coffee (always~)

With each course , waiter would serve followed by Chef Danny explaining and describing what we were about to savor. That's how I was able to somewhat describe the above. But I'm no chef - I live to eat.

My conclusion - Goodies - move aside... KBR is better quality and cheaper than Goodies and alot more convenient to get there and get out of there. KBR opened recently in December and is considered new. John, you really must give the place a try - that chef is amazing and whilst he's still working there. really.

Average S$20 meal for 2 people with food prepared by a champion chef and team, with quality not losing to very fine dining resto in SG (dunno what michelin star what what) - No more home cooking for me. KBR has become my "kitchen" LOL.

enjoy !

Wow micmac888, thanks for yet another wonderful dining place recommendation..! My OC's birthday is coming up soon and u have just given me the perfect place to take her out for a nice dinner... I was gonna buy some nice wagyu (marbling grade 6/7) from Singapore to cook her a nice dinner, but I guess I can save myself the trouble.. :D

So if I am standing at the parking area facing De Bottle, is KBR on my right or on my left...?

Hmm, I wonder if Chef Danny will be able to prep the same 3-course meal for me & OC...? 670k for what u have described is a real steal, considering that getting my usual wagyu would have costed me abt S$120 per kg...

Thanks again..!

hmm... no need i think. I see customers wearing shorts but never saw any customer wearing slippers during the days I went there. I wore casual on D1 and D2 .. but bec made special request for D3 - so wore nice to show respect to the chef who created D3 dishes with enthusiasm and genuine happiness.

End of D3 - he said : "finally... a customer who appreciates a chef's skills. I am happy" :)

EXACTLY. A DAMN steal. And yes you can - inform him a friend recommended you . And there is only one customer who made such (any) that special request and just yesterday. They will remember especially Chef Danny.

Note : you will be asked by Aldo how you want the wagyu or any special preference. Tell him what I told him : "Let the Chef decide"

Its ok,this trip never go maybe next trip then go. This way, there will always be something to look forward to in your next Batam trip,isnt it? Never be greedy in Batam,hehehe...you only have one dick,there are simply too many pretty enough girls with ultra-tight pussy around,even especially so when its weekdays and they will ALL be waiting for you (and your friends) to patronise them. :p

Good luck in your next trip,bro.

Hi, can anybody advise how much is the room rate for formosa hotel 2 days one night or any motel nearby fuck house rate SG$40 for 2days one night thank.

I believe bro jack already replied you :

http://www.sammyboyforum.com/showthr...9#post12925129

But just to add on,if you wish to have lower prices and yet be staying in Formosa Hotel,try to ask the taxi driver to bring you to Kaha Travel opposite Harmoni Hotel to buy Hotel Voucher.

Weekday room : 475k
Weekend room : 500k

(if i didnt remember the price wrong)

After buying the voucher,just ask taxi driver bring you to Formosa Hotel where you check in with the given voucher from Kaha Travel. Another thing to take note,if you go on weekends...there is a high chance that the hotel vouchers will be sold out.

Below is the price if you book online from booking.com which all taxes are inclusive during weekdays (non-holiday or weekends) :

As for hotel near formosa,you can try to go to Formosa 1st and walk around the area to see whats the available hotel around. For your info,Formosa Hotel is the MOST expensive hotel within its 200m radius surrounding area of many hotels.But it is no doubt the most comfortable,safest and convenient hotel within the above said distance. There are at least 10 hotels surrounding Formosa Hotel.

Like i always say,i also like the BEST just like everyone else,but unlike everyone else,i also like to pay the LEAST for the BEST,hehehe....:D
(i am stingy,hehehe...)

Hope i answered your questions.
