Way too expensive for VVD but hopefully he and Matip can help to stable Liverpool defence. Liverpool should sell players like Moreno, Lorven, Can, Henderson, DS, Markovic, Grujic....

Ironically, Jose will moan more on other clubs spending :D

2 days later Liverpool confirms the signing of Virgil van Dijk for £75m!!! The same price Mourinho paid for Lukaku!!! Mourinho must be shocked that Liverpool spent so much on a defender.

Liverpool still needs a central defender and a player to protect the back four!!! The team's attack is 3rd best in Europe so Klopp should sign quality midfielders to have a good balance.

Positive signs and maybe good days are not too far away.

We still have Naby Kieta coming in next season.

Just hope the Virgil is able to stabilise the defence like what Hypia has done before.

Wow, paying inflated world record fee for a centre-back. This would make or break Klopp's stint in Anfield. Hope for Klopp sake, VVD would be a big sucess. One decent defender can only do so much if other duds/Klopp's personal favourites are playing along side with him in defence, making individual errors time and time again.

Man City was going to hijack the VVD deal but Pool took the initiative to seal the deal.

To compete against the best in CL we need quality players.

Lets see if Pool can seal more transfer in Jan.

More than £180m spent on Southampton players. I will wait to comment on the impact of Van Dijk.

For sure we have shaken the football world by spending such a huge amount on one player. Especially this signing is a defender.

Since FSG took control of Liverpool the highest spending was on Mane which was around £37m. With £75m spent on Van Dijk that will be two Sadio Manes.

Looks like Klopp willing to wait to get his targeted players rather simply get another player.

He wanted Mane, Salah, Keita, VVD. He got them now but Keita will join in summer. Available next season.

Can tell that Keita and VVD is not firing on all cylinders playing for their current clubs. They knew big pay day coming and dun need to play too hard.

There was much cry and whining when Robertson wasn't playing. Now you can see he is starting and proven himself to be good. Klopp knew how to whet players appetite.

Not easy for Clyne and Moreno to claim back their positions.

Coutinho is not blind and knew what is at stakes. With the inclusion of Keita and VVD, he knew Liverpool meant serious business.

Any player will know Liverpool will pay for the right players.

Do you think Can is worthy of his asking new contract price although was offered lower?

When Liverpool signed Salah, many fans here questioned why? Now we knew why he was signed.

All fans want to see VVD and Matip in the central but Klopp might think otherwise. :D

Jose should slap himself on his face and stop "crying". Whole of Bury team is cheaper than his spending on Pogba and yet Jose was lucky to draw in the last match.

I always say this if Moreno is the auto 1st choice and best defencer then Liverpool is in deep trouble. :D
