More likely as replacement for Lovren...... Klopp's dream CB pairing is Matip / Van Djik since day One when he came to Liverpool. Two tall calm sturdy ball playing defenders which in his eyes has the potential to be form one of the best CB partnerships in the world. Let's see how his dream pairing turns out. :rolleyes:

Praised him until over the moon even before he kick a ball for Liverpool . Lets see whether he can adapt to Klopp's tactics or not . Liverpool still need some more good players in order to challenge Man City and Chelsea . Expect Klopp to rotate his players for today's game.

Salah was good! Lol....Robertson had to cover the two CB to prevent a potential goal! That's sum up our defending ! Looks like jk need to look for another CB Liao ! Matip was like a 200 pound fatty that could hardly move! Mane is really not performing lately! Hope he rediscover his form soon!

Not a performance to be proud about but the job is done.
Weak midfield with Milner and Can.

This a game we absolutely would've lost or at best drawn previously. The team is learning how to cope with the low block:cool:

We'll see how we do at Burnley as Dyche has them well-drilled.

It is obvious the Fab 4 cannot play together. Watching them play for 2 diffrent games will tell the same story.

There was no connection and they are not in sync. When these 4 play together there are too much spaces in the midfield and soon other teams will explore how to use this to their advantage.

We do not have players such as Matic or Kante to sit back and hold down the midfield. The positive news is Coutinho and Salah seems to connect well.

At the present moment, looks like Lovren is our best CB now.:eek: that silly hospital pass from Matip to Can that led to the goal isn't making it easy for Klopp to select him with Van Djik. Based on recent performances, both Klavan and Lovren are ahead of Matip to partner Van Dijk

The midfield was not at its best. At the end of day, still need the attackers to save the day and get 3pts. Not a perfect performance but at least the Reds battle back from a goal down to get a win instead of losing 2/3 goal lead.

OMG!!! Liverpool found it difficult to win Leicester although the game was play at Anfield. This is so shameful. How is the team going to compete in Europe?!?!

Even with the arrival of VVD he will not be able to solve the leaky defense by himself . Liverpool still need a world class goalkeeper another centreback who is strong in the air . Also a defensive midfielder to protect the back 4 . With can expected to leave soon. Henderson definitely not suited for no 6 role . Now for the next game . Hope Salah's injury not too serious . He should be rested . Don't know what is wrong with Mane.

yes agree.
we still need a good world-class GK in the mould of De Gea or Courtois.
there's so much VD can do, one man cannot maketh a team.
maybe he can serve as a role model n show the younger ones the rope.
n i think he was also signed as a future Captain too.
still miss the good old days when we had Hyypia-Henchoz in defence. their partnership was great, our defence was rock solid then.
