Yes, Indonesian karaoke is really quite nice...

Ppl usually have it with mie kuah or mie kering, but I prefer mine stir fried with cabe or cooked in saos pedas... Best with a fragrant plate of nasi goreng... Slurpssss...

Going batam to attend a wedding for my relative next month with a group of around 30+ people including kids. Already booked BCC apartments for accommodation. But trying to find buffets in batam that serve international dishes instead of the usual nasi padang style buffet.

Any bros here got any recommendation?

Relatives recommend me to just host buffet catering at one of our 3 rooms apartment which cost about $5 - $10 SGD per person . Depending on the menu. Most buffets dinner in batam seem to be serve only on weekend.

Which operator are u taking about..? Different operators have different pricing structure...

For Horizon ferries, singaporeans & non-Indonesians pay a standard rate of $48... Indonesians pay a cheaper rate.. No use asking an Indo to buy for u to use; they see your passport and u won't be able to use the lower pricing ticket..

For other operators, the rate is also about $48 if u buy from harbourfront. However, these tickets can be bought at a cheaper rate in batam and all nationalities can use it. Depending on which operator, the tickets can be bought for as low as $32 or so.

Given that your group size is big (30 pax), it makes sense to buy the tickets (eg batamfast, sindo ferry) from batam. A saving of $15 per ticket will equal to a group saving of $450...

First you must know that for ferry tickets bought in batam has 2 types:

1) For International Passport Holder
2) For Indonesia Passport Holder only

Normally, those that are for Indonesia Passport Holder only will be shown in the ticket with a chop.

If you are looking at Horizon Ferry then forget about it as they only have cheaper ticket for Indonesia Passport Holder at $38

Latest price i got from my source for International Passport Holder as follow:

1) Sindo $16 without taxes, $29 with taxes
2) Pacific Ferry $30
3) Batam Fast (Only can be use in Batam Center/Sekupang) $31

For anybody that is interested:

These tickets can be found at various money changer. Plenty of them selling.

As in which money changer? Please find out yourself as what i had done in the past.

Not to mention that he can get further discount of 1-2$ lower per ticket if he buy in bulk from batam.

Horizon Fast Ferry :

Business Class : S$8.00 (from the initial S$48.00 ticket)

VIP Class : S$50.00 (even if you are paying S$48,you will be given 4 extra tab tickets which will allows you to invite 3 other economic class friends to the VIP room)

VIP = S$48.00 + S$50.00 (S$50 only to go,come back will be another S$50)

Sorry for the short reply.

Just got back,and...tired...:D

If you don't mind going via Sekupang, the 3pm ferry in is zero $$ fare. You probably already know that as a regular, so this is for the benefit of others.

Only thing is, unless you have pre-arranged driver, the in-compound taxis are super-scalpers. They will open at 120k to Nagoya. I just tell them that the bus outside is 4k, and keep walking towards entrance. Of course, I never intend to take the bus, but they dunno that and I do tell them. Suddenly the offer goes down to 80k. I repeat, bus is only 4k and continue to walk, slower this time. Then comes the BS about, you get robbed outside. Much safer to take in-compound taxi. Then I tell them I will pay 10x busfare or 40k. Again more BS. Keep walking and about 20m from gate. Then: Boss, bos, "last" offer 50k." You stop for a sec and wave 4 fingers at them. More BS. 4 wives and 20 children to feed, hard times, gas prices just went up ..... You keep walking. 10m from gate, I hear. "Boss, boss, mari mari." I stopped, look back and wave 4 fingers, and pretend to head out. " Bang, bang, ok.ok" Hahaha .... !! Alternative option if they don't bite, is to go outside and take hail down a cruising cab. That is 50k, 40 if you counter. Well, 80k saving is wontan mee breakfast at Mexiso for 4 ppl. Enjoy !

Snyesy, he drove me in at agreed 40k but I gave him 50k anyway.

That answer my question perfectly. As my in laws coming over sg. They offered to help us buy from sindo ferry at around $30 sgd with tax a saving of around $18 per tickets if buy from sg. Then other batam relatives some say only for Indonesia passport then can use.

Now I know from your answer certain ferry operator do sell cheaper international tickets if buy from batam

Actually, Horizon ferries, for Indo passport (valid for 1 month), local can get at 304K only 2 way.... selling at money changers in BCS mall.

Do see the expiry date carefully first.
