Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

This bloody Lovren really like a cat, has nine lives.
Just when you thought you might have seen the last of him or even lesser of him for the remainder of the season, fate like his godpapa Ah Klopp, has given him a lifeline yet again.
After watching both the Reds and Man city games last weekend and this latest news, for sure i know which team the betting guys in this thread would be putting their money on for the Battle of Britain game tomorrow.

Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip is set to miss the rest of the season as the club say he is "likely to require an operation on a thigh injury".
The 26-year-old suffered the injury during the win at Crystal Palace on Saturday but played the whole game.
A Reds statement said "the operation is likely to end" Matip's "involvement in the remainder" of the campaign.
Liverpool play Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.
The Germany-born, former Cameroon defender has made 25 league appearances this season, scoring once.
Matip's injury comes after fellow defender Joe Gomez suffered an ankle injury playing for England during the international break.
Midfielder Adam Lallana also suffered an injury against Palace which manager Jurgen Klopp described as "serious".

There is still Klavan and Gomez. Hopefully Gomez's injury will be short lived . With Virgil around the defense looks better . But anything still can happen . Just hope for the best .

Just caught Klopp's press conference.

CB is really CB man:(....Looks like even Klavan is not available for tomorrow's game!! Gomez is also out. So that just leaves us with VVD and Lovren available, very dicey:eek:

Can also looks to be out for the first leg at least.

Matip out for the rest of the season.

Lallana out for at least both legs of this tie.

Jurgen still looked quite confident though.

Just have to hope we get the tactics right and dont bottle it.

End of the day we have nothing to lose as City are the favourites to go through this tie, just give it their all and fight to the end, that is all we can ask for.

Oh and Lady Luck on our side as well!!

Come on you Reds:cool:

On paper Man C looks like the favourites to progress to the QF but somehow I got this gut feeling Liverpool will make it instead of Man C.... can't explain it just a strong gut feeling.

Man City will be focusing on TAA who have shown some weakness in recent games. Leroy Sane is a big threat.

Ah Gong hoped that everyone in the team will step up . Even before the game starts Ah Gong is already feeling very nervous .

Liverpool beating City over 2 legs would be a tough ask. City are ridiculously good this year and they have been all season.

I'd love to see us at least win the home leg though and keep their away goals to a minimum. Was brutal watching Juve get 3 smashed into their home goals last night. Hope we can at least avoid that!

Anyway, these are the kind of games and nights we've all been pining for, for years. So lets go out with no fear, play our game, give it everything and see what happens. I give us a chance, at worst make sure the tie is still alive after tonight!

If we do not concede goal this leg then we have good chance in the next 2nd leg.

If Lovren do not make any mistake . If every Liverpool player steps up their game . Liverpool must score an early goal . Liverpool must avoid making mistakes . Also Liverpool must be aware that referee may kelong. That is why Liverpool must take the game to City . Maybe Liverpool might line up as 3 - 4 - 3 . I expect the fans continue their case against Sterling . :D Keeping fingers crossed .

HT Pool 3-0. I am stunned by the result!
The 3 goals were absolute beauty!
Pray Pool don't concede any goals in the 2nd half.

What a great professional display by Liverpool who stun the Citizens . :D I have to admit I was pretty worried in the 2nd half as the Citizens turn up the pressure . Glad that Liverpool's defense did well and none of them make any mistake. However this victory cones at a high cost with Salah injured . Henderson picked up another yellow card and that means He will be out of the next quarter final match . I hope Salah's injury is not too serious . He will definitely miss the next 2 games . Well done team . YNWA. :D

The injury to Salah don't seem to be serious, but Salah should be given a rest for the Everton game and be 100% for the 2nd leg against Man City.

But I would say very well done to the team, scoring 3 goals and keeping a clean sheet which is very very important.

What a dream result.

Just have to defend well in return leg and we will be in semi-final.

Mo Salah is unbelievable, scored 38 goals and counting. Still have 6 games in Premier League and at least return leg in Champions League to play. Can be more games if Redmen goes all the way.
