Hi Guys,

Sorry, I don't have experience about going to batam during Ramadan period. Is it safe to go there between 23rd to 27th June? I don't plan to go to any joint, because I have a regular lady that I am paying her a visit. But I read some post there is a lot police raid during Ramadan. So I not sure if I book a hotel and she come stay with me. Will the police even go to the hotel places to raid?

Please give me some advise on this.

Not really lah. Ramadan, stay away on first, the 15th, last few days. Other days ok. Except less makan during the day, less activities like KTV, and entertainment joint closed only.

Raids? If stay away from KTV n other such joints, it would be ok. Police usually RAID BEFORE RAMADAN n DURING RAMADAN, it is for show, for collecting bonus. RAIDS HAPPEN IN DISCO AREAS more commonly becos for DRUGS. Hotel rooms raid? Maybe those low n cheap hotels. Not so common, unless there is an order from high up.

Crap..seems like Formosa sold out on expedia, booking and Agoda. anybody can recommend a similar hotel?

If you wan the location, try Lovinia, just across the road from Formosa... not as "luxury" but still clean and accessible, and cheaper too...;) (kai siao by one of the bros here.. :p)

Can also try Holiday Hotel, at main road, back facing Indo Rasa turn left walk straight in the minor road, 2 block away fm Indo Rasa near to cross road junction.

Try Goodway Hotel if you are looking for similar Hotel,bro.

A fairly good four star hotel with similar price as Formosa.
