Am sure you guys must have read about Gerra's Man of the Match game agst Brazil. More significantly, he outplayed Lampard. When is McLaren gonna get it thru his thick skull Gerra is the man for the middle? And did you guys catch Mr Goldenballs himself drifting all the way to the left side of midfield...wtf!!! one dead ball kick and he is hero...jeez! And i think its best Owen is laid to rest. Reporter in today's Sunday times spot on, called him "one dimensional".

Agreed with this opinion. But he has scored important goals that are part of our glorious history, and we recognize that, but history is where he stays.

I'm gonna be frank about it and say Owen looked good in the game. Granted he was rusty and in a poor England team but the fella is coming back from a lengthy layoff. I liked what I saw. Maybe looked better in comparison the piece of junk Alan Smith ;)

honey melon ripen then i will be interested...:D

but on a more serious note, michael owen is a thing of the past. rafa certainly isnt too keen on him, so fans should just let him be. but i do feel that owen has gotten his just desserts for the desertion of pool, so i see no point in making the martyr as well. i certainly do not want to see him in a pool shirt again, cos i still maintain my view that he is just too one-dimensional.;) YNWA...

my feel is whether is he one dimension or not, he proved he just got no loyality, he went to real when he thought real can give him more chances at silverware, but guess what, he went, pool won the champs league, and when he wanted to leave real for fear of his WC dreams will be in ruin if he did not get enough game, and he simply went to newcastle even though reported in the news pool was in for him, but not willing to pay the transfer fee real demanded.

to me, i rather play with god for another season then having owen back, someone who always think too highly of himself, at least with god, we know he will give everything for the chance to play with pool....

aiyoh, bro. forgive and forget... but never take back!!!:D i concur with u, i would take GOD back for life!!! even when he cannot play anymore, i would still want him to be one of the coaches or something. i really hope that he will come back to liverpool to help out when he finally retires from playing. ok, now i m being biased...:p cheers, bro.

First, he came in with a theory of "lacking hunger" which definitely does not hold water ... what has LFC been feeding on over the last 3 years to warrant a lack of hunger??
Then, now he came in again with a judgement of "Carra not up to standard" which I thought could only come from a MU supporter ... if Carra were not up to standard, get him to name me 5 other central defenders in the EPL who has performed more consistently in the last 3 years.

Please maybe I mistakely explain myself, I mean The pair could not work well with each other, let in silly goals that could lost the match. should had got someone that could understand each other or maybe they need time. Maybe now there isn't much defender that can really performed consistently but sadly the only team that can defend well are Man U and Chelsea. The few CD that can perform consistently for 3 year but not the last 3 years are Terry, Sol Campell, our sami , Rio etc...

For the past 10 or more year, the kops had not won the domestic league or even come close of winning. To a real fan, winning the domestic league is the top priority, not winning the FA, Euro Championship. It doesn't show that LFC is doing well. Does this show that Kops is lack of hunger? For me, doing well means that kops can win the League and Euro Championship together, just like in the 80s' and I'm definitly not a Man U fan, I want them to win the league by beating Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal. Peace.

Well, the circumstances that led to our decline has been much discussed. But as a defensive unit, we boasts one of the best in the league and europe. We defend well as a TEAM.

Goals are sure to be let in. No matter how good,i they are only human. Sol, Rio, Terry have had their same share of howlers and defensive errors. So have continental defensive greats like Maldini, Costacurta, Desailly, Puyol, etc. But lets look at the weakness of Pool as scoring goals.

Its not about HUNGER to win. but we also need to have the tools (players to do so). For now, while we do need some defensive (Cover), we need more attacking players.

Take away your usual moral sermons against Owen (heheheh), you have a point that Owen is one-dimensional. We do need a one-dimensional player don't we?

If we have a good team of class players, i.e. great wingers for balance, we can stick a striker up front. Just up front and wait for the ball (in Owen's case, to slip the ball through). No more of this going deep to get the ball (Kuyt can do that) or running to the flanks.

Again, not making any judgment on Owen's personality. Just what he can contribute to what we desperately need. Of course, E'to can do too, but what, $35m? ;)

I think you explain yourself clearly enough. Your understanding of football is screwed. Look at our defensive stats FFS. Jeez.
