Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I'm gonna be frank about it and say Owen looked good in the game. Granted he was rusty and in a poor England team but the fella is coming back from a lengthy layoff. I liked what I saw. Maybe looked better in comparison the piece of junk Alan Smith ;)

but on a more serious note, michael owen is a thing of the past. rafa certainly isnt too keen on him, so fans should just let him be. but i do feel that owen has gotten his just desserts for the desertion of pool, so i see no point in making the martyr as well. i certainly do not want to see him in a pool shirt again, cos i still maintain my view that he is just too one-dimensional.;) YNWA... |
Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
my feel is whether is he one dimension or not, he proved he just got no loyality, he went to real when he thought real can give him more chances at silverware, but guess what, he went, pool won the champs league, and when he wanted to leave real for fear of his WC dreams will be in ruin if he did not get enough game, and he simply went to newcastle even though reported in the news pool was in for him, but not willing to pay the transfer fee real demanded.
to me, i rather play with god for another season then having owen back, someone who always think too highly of himself, at least with god, we know he will give everything for the chance to play with pool.... |

For the past 10 or more year, the kops had not won the domestic league or even come close of winning. To a real fan, winning the domestic league is the top priority, not winning the FA, Euro Championship. It doesn't show that LFC is doing well. Does this show that Kops is lack of hunger? For me, doing well means that kops can win the League and Euro Championship together, just like in the 80s' and I'm definitly not a Man U fan, I want them to win the league by beating Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal. Peace. |

Goals are sure to be let in. No matter how good,i they are only human. Sol, Rio, Terry have had their same share of howlers and defensive errors. So have continental defensive greats like Maldini, Costacurta, Desailly, Puyol, etc. But lets look at the weakness of Pool as scoring goals. Its not about HUNGER to win. but we also need to have the tools (players to do so). For now, while we do need some defensive (Cover), we need more attacking players. |

If we have a good team of class players, i.e. great wingers for balance, we can stick a striker up front. Just up front and wait for the ball (in Owen's case, to slip the ball through). No more of this going deep to get the ball (Kuyt can do that) or running to the flanks. Again, not making any judgment on Owen's personality. Just what he can contribute to what we desperately need. Of course, E'to can do too, but what, $35m? ;) |
