Of course it takes time, like the fucking 17 years that we havent won the League. IMHO, only Kyut & Alonso have been class signings in the last 3 seasons. We keep getting beaten to it. Take time? Look at Manure! They won the league and have already made the signings and I bet you, they are putting the strategy together for the coming season, while we are left to "proclaim interest", get players in right at the end and have a team that doesnt gel until the second half of the season. And by that time, we are 10 -15 points adrift. That's why I fucking whine.

Manure sign 3 players and we think next seasons EPL title is lost. We give up so easily without even a match played.

3 players (none who are going to make an instant impact on Manure), Chelsea signs Pizarro (on a free transfer) ... unless all our transfer targets have been acquired by others, why are we whining ???

Last season we lost by 20 points, but at least 10 of those were given away for by us to focus on the CL... or has everyone forgotten ???

You guys remember how long Fergie was at Manure before he lifted the title ??!!??

Good grief guys. We will be much closer this year than last, make no mistake. But we do not have Chelski's Billion to blow, so we have had a time consuming process to negotiate with the correct players and clubs transfer fees. AND BTW, our targets are in the Spanish and Italian Leagues. They are still playing so how to announce transfers...

Lets everyone think for a while before pressing the panic button and giving up on next years title race.

It's not about thinking the title is lost - it's about closing the gap. Why would any loyal supporter think the season is lost even without a game played. I know I will get lotsa flak for saying this - but we are still not league winners yet, not this coming season and I believe Gerrard himself said so.

Lest you forget, Manure were in the Semi's of the CL too and they were 20points ahead. So this line of giving up League points at the expense of the League is meaningless because a team like Pool must challenge seriously on ALL fronts, not just be a European team which is the tag that is starting to be permanently sticking.

You guys remember how long Fergie was at Manure before he lifted the title ??!!??

The discussion is about signings, not winning the League which all non-pot smoking supporters will know will not happen next season.

Good grief guys. We will be much closer this year than last, make no mistake.

Really? '05 3rd place 82 points (9 behind 1st place), '06 3rd place 68 points (21 behind 1st place). Point difference btwn 1st place in these 2 seasons - TWO!. Point diffce btwn 3rd place - FOURTEEN! Let's not get carried away with sentiment and face the cold hard fact that unless there are world-class signings, we'll be breathing the fumes of the 2nd place team again.

But we do not have Chelski's Billion to blow, so we have had a time consuming process to negotiate with the correct players and clubs transfer fees. AND BTW, our targets are in the Spanish and Italian Leagues. They are still playing so how to announce transfers...

Malouda's done with Lyon - am waiting to see if we get fucked in the arse by another team and let them steal him away.

Lets everyone think for a while before pressing the panic button and giving up on next years title race.

As Rafa said "Talk.Talk.Talk". No more time to talk. It's time for action.

Top drawer bro ;)

I am a firm believer that our posts never fail to reflect the kind of fans we are. Unlike some who charge in and charge back proclaiming their loyalty to the club left, right, centre, and in the very same posts show a total lack of self-belief and belief in the club.

Only certain fans have not won the title for 17 years. Jeez...

it is a fact that pool has not won the title for 17 years.

so, if they fail to sign any more players for next season,

1. does that mean the end of the title race before it all starts???
2. does that mean the end of their support for liverpool and switch to other teams???
3. does that mean u will cancel the cable sports channels and stop watching to prevent more heartache???
4. does that mean that u will hide yr liverpool jersey from the naked eye???

the true liverpool fan will answer "NO" to all of the above. i dont have billions. if i do, yes, i would buy liverpool and take action. meanwhile, while i m daydreaming,

i will continue to follow its fortunes... be it up or down.
i m going to give rafa time to get whoever he wants, do whatever he could and have faith in him.
i would have confidence that the new owners will not let rafa go.
i would have confidence that players will continue to do their best next season.
i would continue to buy their new jerseys and wear them proudly.
that's the beauty of supporting liverpool. i dont need to hide my jerseys just bcos the team i support has won the league since the early 90s.

just my thoughts. cheers.

Like many of you here, I too, have supported Pool, more than 20 years for me. If I was a fair weathered fan, i would have switched clubs long ago, but like many of you, i stay on because I love Pool for who they are and what they stand for and the out-fucking-standing history they have.

There is faith and there is blind faith. Blind faith in this case is when we think before the start of every season we will be winning the following season when we do not have world class players and depth on the bench.

Faith is when you continue supporting the club you love, like many of us do.

Once again, my point is not about giving up because that's not what Pool is about. My point is being beaten to the draw to sign world class players to close the gap FIRST, then go on to challenge for the title. Forget about the $8,$9,$10mil players I say, and break the bank to get a $20, $30mil player. I have said before, we have good players, but only one GREAT player.

I'm with you here ... YNWA.
For the record, I still have my LFC jerseys from the CROWN PAINTS & CANDY eras ... would be wearing them if only my tummy didn't bulge to double the size of what it used to be. :D

I'm not so sure the big-ticket purchase would mean the gaps could be closed so simply & so quickly ... teams need time to gel, synergy need time to build.

From what can be read ... Juve is interested in Milito, Real is interested in Alves, Milan is interested in Eto'o ... & seems like they are almost on the verge of getting the papers signed liao.
So, what's left is Mancini, Simao & Malouda ... all wingers.
On the other hand, there are also reports of Barca & Juve trying to sign Alonso & Sissoko from us as well ... let's see if LFC can smoothly announce both Reina & Alonso extending their contracts by next week.

So much to say. Just fill in below one piece of evidence that we are slow and being pipped to the transfers.

Sound like our very own Liverpool pledge (must put right fist on left chest or not when saying it?) :) Liked it very much. Couldn't have said it better.

Yep. It has been a long long wait. This year was not too bad despite not winning anything but generally, we performed well and showed that we are improving. As long as Rafa continues to do the right things and improve the squad, the EPL championship will be ours in due course. This coming season will be the start of great things for our Liverpool. :)

Cheers

Wicked sense of humour you've got haven't you? - "This year not too bad, despite not winning anything". - yes 21 points behind Manure, not too bad, could have been worse.

so far, as mentioned by one of the bro here, all the signings none are the so call big name player, have u read somewhere Eto'o have confirmed he is going to AC? or Milito going real or juve? all are rumours, and probably are generated by the players agent to get better terms for them.

also even if u get Eto'o, or Milito does tat means liverpool will definitely win the league, CL, FA cup next season? I dun believe so, I would certainly wish and hope they can do tat, make no mistakes.

I believe having big names does not make you the best, its all about team chemistry and also working and dying for each other, the team spirits as they said.

just my views, and hope no one is offended.

btw bro KingEros, you certainly have a collections of jerseys ya, haha,

cheers bro, no matter how the team perform, i will follow them too, and watch them live on tv....no $$ go Anfield catch them in action haha

and agreed with you fully, no new players does not mean wont be able to challenge for title, at the end of the day, if current players dun play well with new additional, it will not make the team stronger rite.

Now..the latest rumours...is Malouda is being persuaded by Drogba to be part of chelski....next season...

hmmm..unless. Abrahimovic want to increase chelski tranfer budget of 1 pund this season (Alex, Pizzaro and Sidwell)...i do not forsee him joining the bridge..hopefully Pool can make a more concrete offering soon..

but end of the day (don't know the rest of u agree wif me)...the best signing for every single Anfiled faithful..is the introduction of the likes of 'Gerrard, Carragher, Fowler, Owen...etc' from the academy....
