Confirm takes more than 30min due to traffic jams if any.

Took Bus 152 countless times.
My time only VND3000. :p
Looks like inflation is a big problem for Vietnam.

My past SOP is always to take the first Tiger Airways flight of the day.
Once land Tan Son Nhat Airport go for a morning bonk first then head to Ben Thanh to check-in hotel.
I miss HCMC! :(

where do u get this info from...i been living her since 2008, binh tan was around since 2008 at least...all the locals refer to it and all the street signage has the district name

I dunno how far is it but my frd told me it cost abt 200K by taxi to there from Dist 1. That day my frd orders about 10 Crabs, 1 la la and noodles with few bottle of bia cost him $1.5 M. 4 Crabs steam, 4 crabs cook with their sweet sauce and 2 Crabs for Steam boat

200k taxi one way...return another 200k...dun think will go so far to eat crab...:)

i still think if go to Vung Tau, Mui Ne, Nha Trang, Can Tho, Long Xuyen, Phu Quoc, Danang, Hoi An then eat all the live seafood as much as possible...:)

if book thru agoda at least the price of room fixed liao ...
if thru Booking and pay at check out maybe have to pay more if rate goes lower.

this is the reason I dun plan to visit north central Wetnam during typhoon season...but this year Dec still have typhoon...but I read the news Typhoon Hagupit will miss Vietnam...but bring heavy rain to the area...hiazzzz...wet wet...:)

wah poor mod/TS, create a environment for people to post info, ie supply info whether its good bad relevant isnt the issue, now people need to do the work and find it, using search engine or google, what happen before the NET when u wanted to find a bonk....now lazy newbies expect to find a summary as well!....what has this world become, want to get the best cheapest bonks but cant be bothered to read and research...i give up

I took bus 152 since last yr, last time was 3 mth ago. The longest time due to traffic jam i encounter is 40mins. I usually take the afternoon flight from singapore. The bus does not pass by pham ngu lao. It stop at ben thanh market.:)

Hagupit is now crossing the South China Sea, and will strike the coast of Vietnam on Thursday night as a minimal tropical storm; Hagupit will pass close to Ho Chi Minh City with heavy rain on Friday before dissipating.

It will go to duong tran hung dao street after ben thanh market stop. Alight 2 bus stop after ben thanh market and u will be in front of a Pizza Hut shop. duong tran hung dao is the main road on the left of Bui Vien street. pham ngu lao is on the right of bui vien. The bus stop that go back to airport is opp + left with ref to the Pizza Hut shop. You will see the bus stop. Check the bus directory at the bus stop if you not sure. Btw you need to flag the bus early else they just drive pass very fast and u need to wait for another 15-30 mins. I took this bus 152 to/back to airport when I was there in Nov 2014.

This Bus 152 is really a saviour as I don't have to deal with dishonest taxi drivers that rigged meters.

let us do some calculation...your airline ticket cost how much...:confused:

estimate - S$ 180 - S$ 200...if you buy early and during offer maybe can get S$100-120...difference S$ 80.00

your taxi to CBT is 150,000 VND...your bus ride is 5000 VND...you save 145,000 dong which is S$9.00

actually if you stay in D1 hotels you expect to pay S$35-S$60 per day...there are cheaper hotels in D5, D10, D4 which may cost only S$18 - S$ 25 per day

so why bother to take a bus when you are there for holiday...you are saving on the wrong thing...and very small sum...:p

used to have a friend who save on drinking, transport, smoking...but daily lost USD 200 at the casino...haizzz....:p

but then again...is no right or wrong...to each his own...:)

I very seldom stay in hotels costing above 500k.
You have to walk another further into the smaller streets and check out decent front hotels.
You can be surprised sometimes just a short walk can cut a few hundred k, although quality of stay is still good.

Eg, behind Ben thanh market, walk and turn into the small roads,you an find really decent hotels costing 350k and they are gf friendly too. Not to mention they provide foc breakfast If u r really on tight budget

As to where you want to save or spend, it's your decision. :)

same thing abt asking best place exchange money, change 1-2k sing save maybe 200k dong then they get carrot by girl cuz they too shy/scared to stay firm on the price they have been told is the going price...cent smart but dollar stupid....i think bus is a ok idea if no luggage, get to mingle with locals see the streets find now places
