Generally looking at our relatively successful overall full preseason stint(note we did not get a full proper one last season) which ended yesterday, I am now cautiously more optimistic on our ability to challenge for the PL.

Perhaps we might not win the PL but I think we stand a pretty good chance of making a strong challenge.

Looks like we are going under the radar at the moment because of our lack of high profile transfers compared to the other Big 3 but barring another massive injury hit season like the last one, I think our current squad, surprisingly(read that as Keita, Ox, Minamino, Elliott, Tsimikas etc) , seems to be firming up quite nicely.

Unfortunately Robertson picked up an injury over the weekend against A Bilbao but thankfully it looks to be not that bad and he should only be out for a few weeks. More importantly Tsimikas seems to have shown that he is more than ready to be an able replacement.

Actually, I think another attacker and we're good to go now.

Keepers - Alisson, Kelleher, Adrian

Defence - Trent, Neco, Virgil, Gomez, Matip, Konate, Robertson, Tsimikas

Midfield - Fab, Hendo, Thiago, Keita, Ox, Milner, Jones, Elliott

Forwards - Salah, Mane, Jota, Firmino, Minamino

Room for one more quality forward in there.

Think Clarkson, Woodburn and Rhys Williams should be loaned out. Maybe Keep Williams around for domestic cup games. Dare I say wonder kid Gordon might be given a try as well?

Sell Origi, Shaq, Phillips and Davies.

Interesting to note that both Shaq and Nat were not in the squad for the last two friendly matches over the weekend, so hopefully their sale transfers are going through soon and providing more cash in our kitty for the purchase of that quality striker.

@escobar43535 agree with you.

Klopp hinted at more signings and maybe to prepare for AFCON and injuries.

If the front 3 continue their scoring then should be interesting season with good defence.

Promising and breakout season for Elliot.

Robertson injury is not serious but will be out for start of season. He played full season last campaign and played for Scotland in Euro.

Will stand a good chance of winning the EPL if the squad stays injury free.. Main concern will be the defenders! Now already 2 injuries before the start of the season, Robbo n Curtis Jones a midfielder.

Hope all of you are right. I am worried about our injury list come January or February. Anyway, good to be able to chat with you guys on a more regular basis. We also took a break from this thread during the off season ya? :p

Where is FSG hiding the profits from last season? Surely there must be profits because Man City, Manure and Chelsea are spending like no tomorrow whereas I suspect Leicester had bought cleverly again.

Nat Phillips have proven he is capable to match PL levels. He should stay at LFC.

I think Liverpool is really short of cash for whatever reasons. We may sell him with a buy back clause or a sell on clause. Just like how we included a buy-back clause for Brewster.

I cannot believe how much Chelsea spent on Lukaku after buying Timo Werner and paying him so much in weekly wages. Glad we did not get Timo Werner. All our top 4 competitors bought big. Personally my expectation for this season is very low. Can retain top 4 will be a good season.
