Now we know why Liverpool didn't sign Kabak. I pity Nat Phillips though. What does he need to do to play? I think he will play the next mid-week Cup game.

Actually if you look at the goals Salah are scoring recently, I will hesitate to give him a long term contract at $400k weekly if I were FSG. Salah's game is heavily dependent on his speed. Without his speed, he will not be able to score as many goals. He is likely to lose some of his speed as he crosses 30. Then how? We are left with an underperforming superstar on high wages.

Plus few teams can afford to pay him such wages now. Real Madrid is banking on Mbappe's free transfer. PSG has Neymar and Messi. Barcelona is almost bankrupt. Where else can he go to? Unlikely to jump to another EPL team also. The only team left is Juventus but they like to sign players on free transfers. Man City aiming for Harry Kane. Chelsea already spent a lot of Lukaku.

Time to call the bluff on Salah's agent.

after the 5th goal Pool went easy on MU just passing the ball around. Pool could have scored another few if they had wanted to.

Mo is 29 this year and his current contract with Liverpool ends in 2023. I would think Mo has another good 2-3 years in him at his prime now. Tying him down with a new contract means Pool will not loose him on a free transfer come 2022 with 1 year left on his contract. Players who leave on free transfer tend to negotiate for higher wages as there is no transfer fee to be paid.

If you pay Mo 400K a week, one year he gets 21 million, 2 years 42 million, his current worth >120 million. even if Mo is worth 80 million 2 years later, Pool still get back 40 million in transfer fee.

i would think this is a sensible investment for FSG and LFC

Konate definitely one to watch.

Best part for me though was when he floated in together with VVD to put a stop to United shithousery when cr7 kicked Curtis. Fred running in and then running away had me LMAO, Konate is a beast:p

Some great stuff taken off the net:D:p

0lé Gunnar 5olskjær- Footballing genius

This has to be a banner on the Kop the next time we play them. If he’s still around.

Ole: "right lads , we've got to start pressing everyone is doing it"

Bruno: "But what is it boss?"

Ole(looking at phone) "Google says its running at the player with the ball when out of possession. Ok, lets do it. Everyone got that?"

Ronaldo: "What is this pressing? Ronaldo does not press. Ronaldo is the greatest player the world has ever seen. Ronaldo does not take orders from a hobbit!"

Ole: "Oh of course not Ronnie, I would never ask you to do anything you didn't want to, obviously. the rest of you though, you've got to press"

DVB : "I can press boss, if you'll just give me a chance..."

Ole: "When I want my shirt pressed Donny, I'll let you know"

McTominay: "Bwahahaha, nice one boss. Shut up Donny ya wee *****"

A few more thoughts with respect to our glorious Sunday outing at OT:)

Naby ball recovery, breaking play, creating chances and 3 classy goals this season. Yes he occasionally has defensive lapses but that is coachable with Klopp. Immense on Sunday, when he plays its goals galore. Get well soon Keita.

We comfortably thrashed United at OT without Matip, Fab, Thiago, Harvey and even Mane just came off the bench.

Firmino had a great game, so too TAA.

Apparently old whisky nose Fergie left his seat before the end of the game, which is unusual, seems like he has not done that before, even during toxic Jose's time as manager.

Really loved Klopp's passion at the end of the match. Energy and joy plus his love for his players and the fans in the stadium was so palpable. That sudden spontaneous three fist punch towards the travelling Kop and their return Jurgen X 3 chants back gave me goosebumps, made more memorable and pleasurable because this was done at OT:cool:

Jurgen also made me smile when he said that his missus was in the stadium watching as well, hope she loved watching the match as much as we did!

Thanks bro!

Back to a few more reflections...

Back to back 5-0 PL wins

8 goals combo scored at the Wanda M & OT

Mo is the first person to score a hattrick against United at OT in PL history

These are pretty amazing stats. If we can keep this up, we may cross scoring 100 plus goals in the PL this season.

But...

AFCON might put a spanner in the works as we shall lose Salah, Mane & Keita for at least 8 matches early next year.

That and our perennial bad luck with injuries.

Anyways let us just enjoy this spectacular ride for now and see where it takes us at the end of the season.

8 matches? AFCON is from 9 Jan to 6 Feb 2022. During this period, we have Brentford (home) on 15th Jan, Crystal Palace (away) 22 Jan. Obviously we need to release the players in advance but I don't think it will be 6 additional missed matches though.

Liverpool does have a good relationship with the African countries, unlike how we deal with Brazil.
