2nd leg: Villarreal v Liverpool on Tuesday 3 May.

So does Konaté.


Liverpool will earn €12.5M for qualifying for the Champions League semi-finals.

Just a bit of history, but isn't the last time we found ourselves in this position around 45 years ago?

Enjoy every minute while it lasts. I think that is the key.

Enjoy it because this is not going to last forever and I speak from experience going all the way back to 77'.

On Sunday I was momentarily miffed at the result/performance vs City & the fact that the title was no longer in our hands & I had to step back a bit.

What Klopp has built is truly amazing. The results, records, performances & style is the stuff of dreams. This is Football Manager-type stuff only in real life. It took Ferguson 27 years to get to four CL finals (not counting chickens) but Klopp could get us to three in 7 years!!

For years many have bemoaned squad depth & we were able to make SEVEN changes for a CL Q/F & still look comfortable for most of the night - it is just ridiculous what we are doing right now all with a style & identity that marks us out as genuinely one of the best teams in world football.

I just hope we can at a minimum secure one of the Big Two this season (and the FA Cup) to underline what a special team & period this is.

Don't trust what Pep and City say when it comes to injuries.

That said, I watched the replay of the Atletico v City match and no doubt that was some battle both physically and mentally.

2nd half City looked burnt-out and were struggling to hold on. If Felix was still on think Atletico might well have won it. Can't stand Simeone and his team's shithousery but gotta thank them for wearing out Pep's men.

Also need to take into consideration the travelling factor as well.

From what I saw, looks like KDB and Walker might well be out for tomorrow. But then again not certain. Actually hope Pep risks them and then they go out injured for a longer period which affects their PL run in.

Have to hope Klopp's 7 changes on Wednesday plus using all 5 subs helps give us a vital advantage.

NB. Just realised we also have a PL game against United at Anfield on Tuesday. Our schedule is just crazy. Really need our strength in depth to show itself. That and a bit of luck on injuries and fitness.

Dun be overconfident..... we may not have players in depth like Liverpool but we have in Guardiola a shrewd tactician who has outwitted Klopp several times since their Bundesliga rivalry.

It could be anyone's game tomorrow and may the best team wins.
