just back from 4 day trip to hcm. preparation for tet is in full swing.lots of foriegners wandering around.
found another girl friendly hotel in a hot spot in district 1. lots of back packers and ang moh sitting by the road side cafe's.
N&N hotel
99 Bui Vien Street, PNL ward. Dist 1
it cost only 25usd for the room and no breakfast included as the street is vibrant 24/7.it's a 2 star and quite clean. manager said only the ger have to leave id at reception. the coffee shops serve good cheap food and beer.
took the 7am flight back cost 55sgd plus taxes thinking it would be empty but was a sardine flight back!
have a great new year.:D

Just a quick question.
Apart from girl friendly hotel, how about apartment from Airbnb?
There should not be a problem for gal to stay overnight right?

From my understanding, airbnb has some rules on occupancy.
They r not as flexi as girl friendly hotels.
So it is best to check upfront before booking.
Airbnb is at residences so most owners do not like occupants moving in and out and changing

Milfmlilf

You asked this question is not normal wor. For Direct Flight to HCMC, there are SQ and VN Airline. When there is sales, SQ price are cheap too. Normally you can fly with VN Airline. The cost is between SGD 200-300.

I ever fly with SQ is about SGD 260 only

Scare ha...dun fly...stay home safest...I had flew more than 100 times on budget airlines...so far nothing happen...:)

FYI...jetstar and tiger did not increase flight during cny...still usuall routine flights...:)

Jetstar and tiger used the same airbus A320 which is the safest plane till airasia Indonesia incident...but after reading the news...can tell they hv pretty bad maintenance record and pilot...:)

to squeeze till the last drop of juice from each plane .. to maximize the returns
yet insufficient replacement ...
that's why wonder maybe the standard flight has better maintenance and safer
nothing happen is the best ... just a bit concern things may starts to surface

Tiger and Jetstar planes maintained by CAAS...if the engineer certified plane to fly then you can be assure...I am not very sure about otter subsidiar like jetstar pacific used very old plane and not sure quality of pilots...told my friends dun fly the 7am depart hcm to sin and 11pm flight departs sin to hcm...:)

Is illegal for airlines to fly plane if plane due for maintenance or engineer certify not fit to fly...:)

Did you noticed tiger and jetstar hv extra plane parked near T2 and old budget terminal...those are used when plane need to replace in case of certify failure...:)

Another thing how often they ahead or behind schedule...so far we flew whole last year on schedule...^^

No logic and common misunderstanding, "budget air safety is compromise compares to standard air."

Quite amazing, after reading about all the recent air disasters, that there is NOT any International standards for ALL airlines to operate; that for such a (possibly) life and death service that we all use, that they can be so different country to country.

Even for regular run-of-the-mill companies, there is at least International ISO standards that we can take some comfort from.
And even informal but quite well practiced "ISO" (not real!) standards for what we used to be able to expect from Saunas in China!

we do hope is misunderstanding ... but airasia told a different story.
congested sky, fly without approval, no tracking device due to budget constraint (well nobody wish to use it) ....

Standard air also faces the same problem and disaster occurs, example SQ, China airlines, MAS, Air france, the list goes on.... If you are worry of flying = scare to die, stay in SG but staying in SG also not safe. :D Anyway, it is your own worry not most of us. :D We still fly around.

Bro H88, I think you are wrong, Tiger and Jetstars do increase the price flying to HCM during CNY. A lot of Air ticket are quite expansive if you didn't bought early.

Like H88 said, Singapore CAAS is doing a good job now thus not to worry too much.

Airasia are like Malaysian Airline. Full of stupid excuses when things happen.

He's talking about increased flight frequency and not flight pricing.

I always using vietnam airlines for the internal flight in VN. Cannot trust low-cost company. Safety is priceless ;)

The best companies I used so far are Singapore airlines & Emirat airlines.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)

I take Tiger airlines to Vietnam

Other then that will be SIA and Silkair

Tiger Airlines I believe is own by ST.

Check and maintenance govern by CAAS so not too much worries

I was formerly from the aircraft industry for 28 years.

May to your surprise I do have a L11, Airworthiness Administration cert

Regards
