This is a season similar to the 2000s season whereby 85 to 90 points will win the title unless one team gets hot in second half. Maybe 80 to 85 points may win if top 6 keep drawing.

3 points away and now top of the table until Arsenal match.

Darwin broke the eggs after top games. Jota ensured the 3 points.

Liverpool need to invest if want to win title.

The injuries will need longer time to come back.

Made that a lot harder than it needed to be but a great 3points in the end...all that matters.

Tierney & VAR aside, we should have put that to bed much earlier, could realistically have been 3 or 4 up at half-time.

No matter what front 3 combination plays right now we are just not ruthless and clinical in front of goal. But hey, someday it is going to click in attack and we'll give some team a shellacking.

More I see of Quansah the more impressed I am...he doesn't look like the kid he is, he looks like a man and plays like a man...think this kid could become the real deal.

Big up Endo again as well...pity we are going to lose him to AFCON just as he seems to be fitting in, oh well.

All in all a good day's work. Top of the league and right in it.

My comment on Quansah after the game in Singapore on 1st of August. You have to see him in person to appreciate his bulk. Tall with really wide shoulders. Can't really appreciate his physique on TV.

If he can get to play a few more seasons with VVD, it will feel like the Milan with Franco Baresi and Pablo Maldini era. Baresi mentored Maldini when Maldini was really young.

Today's Liverpool's 5th match in 13 days. Endo is the only player to start all 5 matches. He becomes the first Liverpool player(since January 2006) to start 5 matches in 13 days for us.

Will be a big miss in January

So...after the departure of so many seasoned players (especially midfielders) at the end of last season, our still rebuilding team will end the year top of the league with the best goal difference.

Given that the Jan transfer window will open soon, who should we sign? A leftback on loan for 6 months?

Liverpool top of the league after 19 matches. This is already over my expectation for the team.

Liverpool had to spent wisely in Jan and try to bring in players that can helped the team.

I dun mind the team bring in loan deals to help and hope the injuries return to form.

Amazing if you think of the Refs and VARs against Liverpool.

Make it a very strange season.

Any top 5 to 6 teams can still win the league and just need to get hot and lucky.

I think up to the players and coaches. Klopp overruled the medical team to bring Jota for Burnley and je scored.

In the past players played thru pain barriers and hope the players pull up their socks and win 16/19 matches should be enough to win.

It's too early for me to get excited. I haven't particularly enjoyed our football for most of this season. It's been laboured, disjointed and there have been too many games where we've relied on individuality to just do enough to get us a result.

I'm just happy we are in great position right now despite all this:cool:

The frustration is going to come from not investing in January when we have a real chance of kicking on to capitalise on other teams struggling for form:(

Hope I am proven wrong though:D

City are coming.. Once they get Haaland, Doku, Stones , KDB and Diaz back; It's game on.

To me, City are still the ones to fear the most. They normally string a run after Christmas. They could blow everyone else out the window if past years are anything to go by:eek:

Once again, hope I am proven wrong though:p

Think perhaps I was a tad too negative in my above post:o

It's been a good first half that everyone would have taken at the start of the season. Lots of promising signs, however equally there are areas we need to improve upon if we want to go all the way. Up front being the main one.

January will be key with Salah and Endo away. If we can come out of next month still on top or thereabouts, then I think we'll have a serious chance. It will also depend on who we sign in the window too.

True bro, 2 points lead is really not much considering how the ref seems to be constantly denying Liverpool any advantage by using VAR and unfavorable calls...unlike the season when they won the title, then the lead was simply too wide for them to try anything to throw the title race open..
