"Arne Slot says this team is good enough to complete their ambitions even without transfers. But he does say it would be a surprise if there are no additions in the next month."

:eek::(:o:D

Oh and seems like Andy Robertson is out for any pre-season action as he is carrying an injury from Euros24.

According to this article, he carried an injury into the Euros and played every single minute of their Euro matches. I think as Scottish captain, he is placing the country over his club.

Injured for a big part of last season, he 'recovered' to play for Scotland and then is injured as he should be once their Euro campaign ended. Basically he did a Keita on us

Trey Nyoni

Remember this name:cool:

On the flipside, we desperately need a solid progressive DM #6 .

Endo is not the answer:(

Very very early days but Slot seems to be putting things in place his way

Always nice to beat the Gooners

Quansah looking real solid

If Jota is able to avoid injury he should have a fine season

Liverpool just defeated Man U 3-0 in a friendly match in US. 3 days ago, we defeated Arsenal 2-1 (if I remember correctly) in the same tournament in the US. We also defeated Real Betis.

Still 0 signings though. Seems like we are trying to sell Endo and Gomez. We may get bids for TAA and Allisson too although I think we are secretly hoping to receive a mega offer from the Saudis for Salah.

Great result but ok performance.

United were actually good but lacked clinical finish, whereas the Reds were very clinical in finishing, hence the impressive scoreline.

Both our Keepers good, Bradley very good, Quansah done for pace a couple of times but otherwise good, Konate very poor, Tsimikas good game and scored, midfield a bit iffy especially Jones holding onto the ball too long, Elliott drifting in and out of the game, Gravenberch did ok considering he is just back, Carvalho some lovely footwork and goal but not involved enough, Jota ok and Mo impressive.

Billy the kid has left to join Dundee on a permanent transfer. When will our first league match be on? I don't think we have the squad depth to last an entire season.

Very nice workout for the lads. Played nice football and scored 4 top quality goals

Good preseason performance against, well let's say, not the greatest opposition, Sevilla. But the lads got the job done very well and lots to be positive about.

Lovely cameo from Nyoni. Keep him in on board and use him carefully.

Still hope we can strengthen as needed.

Think got one more friendly later today?!

2nd friendly yesterday, closed doors against Las Palmas, ended in a goalless draw

Reds’ final outing before our Premier League opener at Ipswich Town

A bit of a come down after the earlier game but nothing you wouldn't expect from a team made up of players returning from injury and probably mostly squad players. That said, no injuries (as far as I know) and a good run out for pretty much the whole squad.

Have to make a comment on Darwin

Nunez has the speed of Roadrunner but the effectiveness of Wile E. Coyote:rolleyes::D

Think Darwin really needs to up his game or go

If he comes, Martin Zubimendi will likely be our new playmaker. He supposedly plays like Alonso. Defensive midfielder who sprays passes all over the pitch.

If only there is a Macherano type of player around now, we need the energy and the steel in midfield

Nunez style of play is not compatitible with the way Liverpool plays.
He was very effective every time he plays for Uruguay because they know how to play to his strengths..... the other players create spaces and supply him to finish the job whereas Liverpool makes him run around like a crazy horse.
Unless Slot is able to change the way Liverpool plays.... it is better for Nunez change club.

The Zubimendi deal falling through is very annoying, but not the problem. These things happen, but not having another 1 or 2 replacements in mind / lined up instead, is total negligence.

And to top it all off, 3 of our best players could be off for nowt next year. The Trent side of it is almost laughable. Should be raking in over £100m for him in today's market. Hard enough trying to convince players to stay, when Real come sniffing, but we're not even showing an ounce of ambition, which may encourage him to sign a new deal.

I'm struggling to wrap my simple brain around the fact we may not add a top player or 2 to our squad this summer, but it genuinely looks like a possibility.

Not even angry right now, just fed up with the way it's panning out:(

Tbh do you think Darwin is a clinical CF, particularly taking into account the high price we paid for him, bro?

If he was in the team during Benitez era..... he would have been as wffective as Torres.
Klopp's high press game is just not suitable for him.
Watch Uruguay's games and see how they utilize him..... not a surprise that he has been banging in goals for them regularly.
