Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
The old folks home is next to a half complete temple next to a beautiful river.
Really lovely place for old folks to spend their reminding days. The charity done at the children's home is more upsetting to see so many abandon children and babies. Overall a good chance to think how fortunate we are. Thanks for the 12 sponsors of the event. |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
The orphanage was very memorable for me. No doubt many children with no parents, many of them still siege their days happy, also sad to see children with disabilities but the place is clean and ample staff to take care of them.
Side note, this trip also had my fill with banh mi too. |

today, the orphanage has classes for the able children and better playgrounds...one thing for sure...the children are well fed and happy lots...felt so much better when I saw the living conditions improved and plenty of volunteers to help with the children...kudos to the monks and helpers made the orphanage better...:) besides you have stomach filled with banh mi daily dosage...:) in case anyone wants to go there visit...you can do any donations there...address in the photo |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Just to share this piece of news...:)
"The government has signed off on a proposal that will grant state employees six days off for an extended holiday which will begin in late April. To celebrate what will be the Hung Kings' Temple Festival, which pays tribute to the traditional founders of the nation, and the Liberation Day on April 30 that marked the end of the Vietnam War in 1975 and the Labor Day, state employees will have six days off -- from April 28 to May 3, the labor ministry said in a statement Monday. They will work on Saturday, April 25, in lieu, the statement said. It asked that state agencies strictly adhere to the adjusted work schedules." http://www.thanhniennews.com/society...ril-39587.html This means all the roads jammed and holiday resorts will be fullhouse...air travel will be full too...better plan early if you intend to go anywhere...and things will be expensive...better to stay back in HCM...:) |
Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
This news may be good for us in Sinkieland...:)
Budget carrier Vietjet has announced a plan to increase the frequency of the Ho Chi Minh City-Singapore route from daily to double daily from May 30. With two round trips per day, the route will have a capacity of 5,040 seats per week, Vietjet said Tuesday in a statement. The new schedule will see the flights depart daily from Ho Chi Minh City at 8:55 am and 2 pm. On the return leg, the flights will depart from Singapore at 1:50 pm and 6 pm. The flights will take roughly two hours and five minutes. Vietjet currently operates 28 domestic and international routes. Yeah, cheong in PP last week was quite interesting.
First night has a fiasco when I turn on the light in my bedroom (the girl look is not nearly what I expected, lol) Second night was great, had a fine gal with fine figure and fluency in Mandarin + English. May go again in April for short business trip. |
