Ayesteran forced from Liverpool over Mourinho friendship
tribalfooball.com - September 02, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez fell out with assistant Pako Ayesteran because he was becoming too cosy with Jose Mourinho, it has been revealed.

The News of the World says the simmering row between the Liverpool management team boiled over after the Premier League clash with Chelsea at Anfield two weeks ago.

And it came to a head when Ayesteran walked out on Thursday.

Boss Benitez was furious when he saw Ayesteran hugging Mourinho and joking after the Londoners had pinched a point through Frank Lampard's controversial penalty.

An Anfield insider said: "That was about the last straw for Rafa.

"Everyone knows Mourinho is not his favourite person and when he saw Pako showing such affection towards him he saw that as blatant disloyalty.

"There has always been friction between Benitez and Mourinho and Rafa did not take too kindly to one of his staff joking with the opposition manager especially as he felt Liverpool had been robbed of victory."

I hope and cross finger that Chelsea will lose or draw later!!! :D

No need to hope others do badly. We must win based on our own merit. I think to comprehensively beat any team, newly promoted or otherwise, 6-0 is a mean feat not easily accomplished. YNWA

Yippee ...

#1 ... both Man City & Chelsea couldn't win their games this weekend, so Pool gonna stay tops.

#2 ... no league games until another 2 weeks' time, so Pool gonna stay tops until then.

#3 ... Pool is tops despite playing 1 game lesser than the chasing pack, less Arsenal of course.

Think it's gonna be a good experience in whetting the boys' appetite to continue working hard at maintaining the pace ... I dun care what others say, it's always gonna be much easier to maintain your lead than trying to play catch-up, no matter whether it's in a game of football or the game of life itself. :D

yeah bro KingEros,

Futhermore , arsenal played 3 home games and 1 away, their game in hand is away to blackburn which might proof tricky for them. Our game in hand is home against west ham. So it looks favourable to us.

alamak bad mistake bro, but the way newcastle playing this season, and with their full range of strikers, plus big sam, newcastle will be hard to beat at home.

bro u bet no of goals ah? or AOS? AOS was at S$15. anyway its a good performance especially good to see babel scoring. the goal he score really good man, good skill and he is not those typically winger, think his body size is 1.5 times that of pennant.

Martins and Owen, on their day, world class strikers and a threat to our team. But overall depth and strength in squad, they cannot compare. Big Sam has always been known to frustrate the other team for a draw or nick a win, but that's Bolton. This is Newcastle with different expectations. I think there is also some pressure on him to win at home against liverpool.

I think u must also hope for Arse and Manure to drop too. I think our main challenge is from these two, depending on injury situation

hoping arsenal drop their game in hand against newcastle and we win our game in hand against west ham, we will lead the table by 3 pts.

Big Sam knows wat he is doing, first thing he did at newcastle is to drop all the defenders that he doesnt like and starting to look for new defenders. Their style of play is similar to bolton but they got more moeny and stronger squad in attack.
