I think Shenzhen is just too near Hong Kong and is affected by the same type of "rat race" mentality although Shenzhen is better in terms of space and cost of living than HK. Well, we should try to arrange for a meet in Luohu area for all interested---count me in.

yo bro...

i had been to sz a few times....if u need some recommendation, i think that laodifang hotel is quite ok...at 180~200rmb....walk-in rate....if u wanna save money, stay in the one next to it, named pingru...only 120rmb....

i like laodifang ('old place') mainly because of the location...i was in sz once for near a month.....because the hotel is at chunfeng lu.... u get plenty of sauna nearby, proper and improper.....and the famous "FACE" pub is just minutes away......a lot of OKTs nearby as well.....so far, no trouble with their service but still, be wary when ones overseas...

u can also walk 5~10 mins....to high class pub 'jade and pearl' (feicuimingzhu) or to shopping areas where at nites, u see a lot of village pros.....

yes...certainly can hunt for gals....but some of them can be 'professionals'...
it is just a disco pub which is opened by a high-class nite club by the same name....

it is not cheap for the locals.....at 30`50rmb per drink, i think? but certainly one of the places where you find the most pretty gals (although i must say that in SZ, gals not really pretty, especially when compared to SH, BJ)

yes...chunfeng lu is at louhu.....10~15mins walk from the main train station....in my opinion, very strategic place:)

i was there once for a few weeks by myself....and everyday, basically what i did was : sauna, massage, pub, nite club, chickening....hehe

Bro, the 2 largest sourcing portal in china are: www.alibaba.com and www.china-sourcing.com

you can find almost anything you want from there. most of the factories are located in shenzhen and dongguan.

well, i do know about those sites.....but sometimes prefer to view items in real......especially these sites have a lot of companes bullshiting....almost all will claim to have factories but in fact, many don't have on hand stock and don't have factories, just trading companies....

also, u can't trust their product pictures on show.....many are just copied pictures from other avenues....

when u deal with mainland chinese people, u just have to be more careful....i hate to say that honestly, but sadly it is the truth.....

Bro, alibaba is a real buisiness, its boss jack ma has bought over yahoo china, this is not a dot com company.

most of them are real companies. i have a company in shenzhen and have visited many factories in bao an, yan tian, dongguan regularly. i have sourced many products and sold to us & european buyers oem/odm at volume of tens of thousands/yr.

i know jack ma's story...and i know alibaba is real....

what i meant to say is: there are many companies on alibaba claiming that they have factories, but indeed, many are just trading or distribution companies....

and many put on product pictures which don't belong to them.....

alibaba is a great website, no doubt...i have used it frequently...however, u still have to be careful when using the site to sift thru the info and pick carefully.....

but then again, forgot to add that i am just a small fry, and so a lot of factories MOQ is way too high for me.....cheers:)

i know....many things are negotiable...but some are just too high......i can't afford to order even 1000 of the same item.....wouldn't want the money to be tied up too....

luckily i still have a few suppliers who are willing to do smaller orders.....

nowadays...some chinese suppliers have become rather big fcuk too:)
