First timers.... please be humble.

Seniors in this thread have been around for ages; speak Tieng Viet that make Viet gals head turn.

You may or may not get a guide here; but it is surely cheaper and time saver than you go in blindly.

The the most important of all; you come home safely.

I know a taxi driver in HCM. He has been in HCM for decades.
Yet there are a lot of places he do not know. Don't expect a taxi or xe om to guide you.

How are you going to speak to the xe om? In English? In Chinese?

I ever write a address to show a xe om, he is illiterate; cannot read Tieng Viet. Need a boy to translate for him.

Those that think it is easy; think again.

My nick is a hint as to where to go.... good luck getting there.

Here what you read here is posted from a local which prices he pay is solely for people with local knowledge, while he claims of how low the prices it is always based on a person being able to speak the language that is his mother tongue, why don't you ask him to go china and do the same thing, be it in shen zhen or even in kun ming or even WU han where people can't speak English and find his half farked Chinese funny. I doubt he can get the same things I can get for free or low prices, there are those people which can make people disappear just by asking their friends to help them deal with a resident pest.

For those reading, just accept that locals being able to speak the langauge fluently will always be able to pay cheaper prices else why would he be hiding here rather than his adopted country which treats him like a second classed citizen. That said our local here has undisputed knowledge of Vietnam which us singy will never be able to match. That is his advantage.

yes agree...Hcmc is big...unlike Sinkie and other developed countries, there are no proper road signs which will tell u turn left to where and turn right to where on majority of the road..

not to even mention the alleys...there are many small streets where usually only the people staying there will do..

taxi drivers in Hcmc is unlike those in Sinkie where will physically has a street directory in the vehicle or can simply log into GPRS to find the place

hence...its always better for people to know roughly where the place is before taking the taxi to a long distance place in case the driver brings u for a "spin" to jack up the taxi fare..

One man's meat may be another man's poison. Best is to try out on your own. No venture, no gain. If u r alone and money can buy u convenience and safety, go for it. Money can always earn again. Life is short! Be happy!

what...who says im hiding..i was a bloody lawyer and a pharmacist in australia...dont think that makes me a second class citizen, why im here is that i have passive income of 6k+ monthly so i can travel and have fun here whilst earning AUD...and look at my posts from INDO, i dont speak bahasa, and i still got local pricing, why wouldnt i be able to get local pricing in china, i dont speak chinese yet i could jio a chinese girl in guilin to come meet me in jakarta, i even fucked her ass for free...please at least meet me and get your facts right..try a bit of research like reading my posts to see if what you say has a tiny bit of credability

u say that abt xe om and yet h88 says he can ask any xe om abt cafe om that is 20mins away from his usual hangouts ie d5 d8?...btw who intro u and h88 to cafemifa?

btw those who have met me know my vietnamese isnt equal to a local, just one look at me without me speaking and people know im not a local, so speaking the language has nothing to do with getting local pricing, its about knowlege, bargaining skills, and attitude...explain to me why without language knowlege i can find 10-15 dolalr bonks from 18-24yrs olds who are 7-8's in laos, cambodia, indonesia, mynmarr, and even north vn where they have a totally diff accent from me and i dont even look vietnamese...and sure talk is cheap blah blah..ask h88, jerkface and atlassshrugged, abt the girls i get for those prices..i regularly send them pics, and with atlassshrugg i even show him some of the same girls
