Day 4 in HCM

Took an Ecotour out for some exploration. Today, departure time is around 08.00 AM, my english speaking private tour guide and transportation come meet me at my hotel to Can Gio mangrove forest. Arrive Vam Sat Tourist canoe station around 10 AM. Next transfered via Speed Boat for enjoying beautiful scenery along the river. The place is really different with mangrove forests and I am introduced to many interesting things to see here. This is also famous for the bird watching place.

Ater 15 min transfer via Speed Boat, come to Bat reserve, see crab pond which I enjoy crab fishing.

After continue to Vam Sat Tourism center for conquering Tang Bong Tower 26 meter high for comtemplating the overview landscape of Biosphere Reservation of the World, walking along the forest, I try with the chain - bridge, come and see, feed the friendly deers.

Having lunch at Vam Sat Restaurant, play with the Yellowed- cheeked crested gibbon, take a nap on the hammocks.

After lunch an relax, visit the Crocodile Farm, learning Crocodile eggs brood process. Joining thrilling game "Crocodile fishing". It was more like crocodiles fishing. There were around 5-6 crocodiles swimming around out boat! The special boat have fences and protection for safety.

Then next meet wild monkeys, tour guide bring me to visit Natural Bird reserve in Nesting birds season from May to October (Over 70.000 individual in 26 different spicies).

Was dead tired after returning back to Hotel in the evening but a well-worth experience. At night walk around Pham ngu lao and Bui vien, a very lively place with many people drinking beer and eating BBQ food. Went to this food stall Bun Cha at 145 Bui vien. Dont know how to eat the food, to throw the noodle into the soup or eat separate? Anyway did not like the taste much.

if u are still in hcm, and particularly at Pham Ngu Lao...
there's an awesome side street bbq of chix wing, squid and sinh to.
just look out for locals sitting on stools..and u will find it.

I paid S$40+ with breakfast.
both hotel are their 4m x 20m kinda building
area for breakfast only can put 4 table :D
so far the nicer hotel I've stayed in hcm ( 3star) is Sunflower

Actually i find bui vien more lively than Pham ngu lao.
I eat in this store "lang nuong BBQ" near the end of bui vien street, the BBQ food with my favourite Tiger crystal beer damn shiok. :D

Each BBQ stick of beef, pork or chicken only 10,000 dong but 1 order of whole sotong (min. size) cost about 200,000 dong.:(

Day 5 in HCM

Wake up late and have eat lunch at Thai binh market very near Pham ngu lao.
Proceed to visit saigon zoo after lunch. Pay 50,000 dong for the entrance. There is a good variety of animals on display which is amazing for 50,000 dong. The park is clean and wasn't overly busy and it was nice to wonder around for a few hours. Sadly I felt most of the enclosures were too small for the number of animals they were holding.

After Zoo return to backpacker street and took a walk at bui vien street. There are many girls along the street pestering walking tourist to try out in their massage. As i was really tired, decide to go in for a massage. I cant remember the shop name but massage was ok.

Full body massage cost 250,000 dong. Actually I stay at bui vien too. But just side by side with pnl.
The hotel I always stay in is off the main road so quite quiet.
Breakfast is nice with the standard spread for me.

2 portions of octopus, 3 chicken wings, 3 portions of pork ribs and mangosteen sinh to all for 300k. Enough to feed 2 well.
Try the ribs and chicken wings. U won't regret.:D
I'm missing it so much.but will there this weekend to have my fill again

Had some time to kill in the late morning so went to check out Cafe MIFA since a few bros talking about it here and I have never been there.

It's located just beside a motorbike service workshop and clients are mostly locals. I went in, a gal brought me to a seat came over and tcss with me. recently I invited a group of new friends to join us (we a group of 3 + another 3) in bia om in D5...sure enough after the event around 10.30pm...the gal refused to go D2 which the new friends is staying...:)

Day 5 (Last day)

Wake up early to visit Ba Thien Hau temple at 710 Nguyen trai, D1.
A small temple located in china town. For buddhist, you can buy incense coil from temple which cost abt VND 20,000 only. Pray to Thien Hau, make a wish and light the incense coil. I spend about 30 minutes for visiting. Worth for visit.

Proceed to an dong market to eat lunch at the hawker. After return back hotel, prepare to check out. Took my backpack to Tan binh district to meet a friend. We went to eat lau de Tri ky at 236K Lan Van Sy, Tan binh.
The Curry goat and BBQ goat meat eat together with the paper rice row really delicious.

After late lunch, time to leave for airport.
