Rafa's Reds exit talk hotting up

Sun 06 Jan, 11:45 AM

Rafa Benitez has admitted there is a gap between Liverpool and the top three in the Premier League, amid growing speculation about his future.Widespread reports suggest that Benitez could be set to move on in the summer after four years with the club.

The Spaniard's relationship with Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett has become strained this season and he is now understood to be preparing to leave England.

According to reports, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Internazionale and Milan are all tracking Benitez's situation with interest.

Benitez has been unable to lead Liverpool to Premier League glory and he concedes it has become increasingly difficult to compete with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal on the domestic front.............

Bro soul_reaper,

dont be upset. Jose Mourinho is a good fella, just a bit loud. But he's tactically very shrewd. If Rafa really goes, Jose is the best person to replace him.

JM has some qualities but tactically shrewd is not one of them, unless you count buying millions' worth of players and playing dull and dour football.

Back to facts that we know, we were pissed poor against Luton. No Torres and Stevie but there were 3 players on show who cost at least 10m pounds each - Alonso, Kuyt and Babel. They were shockingly poor.

Time to buck up and show some character.

maybe those rumours and news that he is going to Real Madrid is true.
anywhere, another disappointing performance by Reds...

JM or Martin O'Neill will be good...maybe it is time for a change as Rafa already being here for about 4 years plus.
correct me if i am wrong about the durations...

Boss did something unusual on coach trip back to merseyside.... he gathered all the spanish players and spoke to them in spanish only. The rest couldn't understand what he said

If a new manager comes, then kuyt gets my vote for the first one to leave.

Rafa buys him to be a striker, but he plays like a midfielder. Always dropping deep and his passing is wayward. Really a bobo shooter.

Bro dirk kuyt, sorry no offense to you.

Kuyt is a hard working lad. Maybe he's under pressure to perform since the arrival of Torres.Any view on the replay at Anfield next?

i tink the least rafa could ve done was to put torres on the bench for "contingency". i remember there was a game quite recently he did that and when things was stalemate, he brought torres on and he promptly scored. to totally exclude him was a major mistake.

he did comment before the game that a liverpool without torres should be able to put luton away which, to be fair to rafa, is a valid point. the fact that they couldn't only shows how bad kuyt, crouch and (leser extent) voronin is.

Our midfield was poor too notably alonso seems far from his best. against wigan at least they dominated much of the game but yesterday they were under constant threat from luton.

i dun tink JM is a good manager...his success was very much paid for by RA chequebook. how about guus hiddink?

Me tinks the Americanos r making another mistake by signing Mourinho..... he is a chequebook manager..... dun give him $$$ to buy players he will cow peh cow bu...... which is exactly the problem between Rafa & the Americanos.

If they cannot give the $$$ to Rafa to buy..... i dun tink they got the $$$ to give Mourinho as well.

I would be sad to see Rafa go....

I think Rafa might not be able 2 bring back the glory days of Liverpool in the English Soccer top flight. It has been so so long when Liverpool last sat on the summit of English soccer.

I like Mourinho, but if Mr Roman cannot live along with him,hw k the US owners live with Mr Mourinho.
